  1. Oh my goodness! I had a similar situation a couple of weeks ago but with the videographer.

He approached me as the first dance was getting set up and said "Oops I've run out of tape".

I guess he decided to then replace the camera with beers in each hand. Needless to say he

did not video the entire reception past the announcement of the bridal party, he got so drunk

that the venue had to call the police so that he would not get in his car to go home, the bride

and groom bought him a hotel room and guests packed up his equipment and carried him

out to their car! It was definitely entertaining for my assistant and I, but the poor bride and

groom! Dealing with your uncle is one thing, but a wedding professional?!! Ridiculous!

  2. Hi Erik!

Typically when I am editing a wedding I color mark anything that I think needs extra

processing in photoshop and then I export that into a seperate folder within the event so I

can easily browse to it. I also tend to open my photos in group sets, so formals,

reception, etc. In this way you can export all of the reception photos to a folder and then

open that within Photoshop and use a batch process on those photos.

I find that Lightroom does most of what I need to edit photos, but I sometimes bring a

couple photos into Photoshop to run them through Noiseware Professional or to clone

    something larger out.

    Hope this helps!

  3. I posted a little while back that I had some formal photos with a pixelation problem do to the ISO setting.

I purchased Noiseware Professional and "fixed" the photos and resent the bride the proofs. She emailed

me again this week and said that she is still not able to get clear photos from her CD at 4x6 or 8x10 size

and so she feels as if she does not owe the balance due of $250.

Now I knew that the photos had been fixed and thus sent them to Mpix to be printed at the 4x6 and 8x10

size. I did 10 test prints and of those only 1 still looked a little pixelated. I know that most of the images

on her new disk are just fine.

Would you just say fine and not charge her the balance or try and fix them again?

    Thanks in Advance

  4. I shot a wedding back in November where the groom's sister purchased the wedding photography package

as a gift to the new couple. I was made well aware during the day that the family of the groom was not

particularly inviting to the new bride. In fact I think they down right hated her. Long story short, the

sister was the one with whom I had contract with and had payed me for my services. When I finished the

proofs I sent two copies to her, one for her and the other to give to her brother and his new wife. This

week I recieved an email from the bride saying that she was a little disappointed because she thought that

I had taken many more photos then she recieved and that there were no candids at all included in her

proofs. I know for certain that their were candids and also about 400 proofs. I am guessing that the

sister decided to remove some of the photographs before passing on the CD.

Now I am in a bind. Who do I hold loyalty to? I know that it was the sister that ultimately payed for the

photography but I feel badly about the bride and groom not having access to all of their photos. If I do

however hand over all of the proofs to the bride and groom it may fuel an even larger feud between

families. Any suggestions would be excellent!!!

    Thank you!

  5. I am beginning to worry that my screen is not calibrated as well as I thought it was. In my

view the black and whites are not flat at all. I have a MacBook Pro and I know that laptops

typically are calibrated differently, but what suggestions do you have so that I can get my

photos to look as well on the web as they do for me in Photoshop?

  6. Yesterday I took advantage of the beautiful weather Pittsburgh was having and shot for an hour or two

    with this beautiful couple.

  7. This actually is not one of the images that made the cut, I just picked an image to upload

quickly because they all have the same problem. I have a couple more of this pose where

everyone is looking at the camera.

Peter...did you remove noise?? The photo does not look pixelated at all!

  8. Hi All -

I have a past wedding where I shot some of the outdoor photos at too high of an ISO and I am now dealing

with some very grainy photos. I tried a noise reducer and had delivered them to the bride, but recieved an

email from her today that the photos are not printing clearly even at a 4x6 size. I am not sure what I can

try next to fix the photos so the bride is at least happy with them. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I'll

email you the full resolution file if you post your email.

    Thank you in advance!
