Thanks very much for the comments. I agree about the frame. I flunked "framing 101". It is something I need to work on for sure.

This is a beautiful (though VERY hot and humid) part of the world.

I appreciate your comments. I wasn't aware of the payment requirement. Any idea what a reasonable amount would be? I'll be returning to China this year for my third trip.

Morning market in Hsinying Taiwan.

I found this situation at a street market not too far from my hotel.
The practitioner's surgery consisted of a chair and a leather bag
full of instruments. The patient did not flinch!

For children in social welfare centers, a window to the world
outside is a great attraction. The only thing better is a hug. These
children had never seen me before, but as I approached they opened
their arms and said "hold me".
I consider myself very privileged to have been allowed to take these
photographs, and I would not want anyone to get the wrong
impression - these wonderful children are well cared for. The only
thing they may lack is the high degree of individual attention we
are able to give our own families.

I like this very much. The composition is very simple but also very effective.
I don't know how you achieved the balance of light in this image, since this is essentially a (diffuse) back-lit scene. There seems to be a lot of natural fill from the front. Was there a light colored building to the left of the scene?
Beautiful job. Congratulations.

I agree with you on both counts. I could use some help on frame color selection. Any ideas what would work better?
As to the chink of blue sky: I was sorely tempted to remove it digitally, but decided to leave it and claim "not manipulated".
Thanks for taking the time to comment.

I took this photo (and many others) in 1978 from the audience. It
was taken with equipment that by today's standards is antique. No
meter in the camera, no AF, no image stabilizer, no ISO 1600. Ah,
those were the days (NOT :~)

Nicely done but it is mirror reversed. You can't salute with your left arm (if that is what he is doing).

This a very nice view of a magnificent fortress. For those that don't know, this place is actually huge. This photo is very good and would make a postcard that would sell very well I think. I don't think the composition could have been better.

This photo should be selling something. It would make a great add, very engaging, completely irresistible. The spelling in the title needs some work though :~)

Only average marks for originality (waning sunlight through picket fence), but that is more than compensated for in execution.
This is a beautiful photo, superb composition and technique. I would be proud to call it mine.
