1.
Rashed, I too like using film as a medium, but find that a digital camera is more forgiving and convenient to use. Every now and again I will defrost some 120 or 35 and woo the subject/s that deserve the devotion that comes with using film.
I do miss the low speed transparency film that once was more than readily available through the 70's and 80's (ASA25) and the simplicity of just posting the exposed roll and eagerly anticipating the slides to be posted back. A delightful system that I relished almost as much as fine dining.

 2.
G’day all, here is my take on the post 911 world from Australia, and all that goes with it.
In late 2007, I was flying out, going to Thailand and was queuing for my boarding pass; it was taking sometime and, as you do, I struck up a conversation with the person next to me...This person was a west coast American who had been in the country for 3 months and unfortunately the conversation evolved into a discussion about a recent federal election held in Australia. I try not to talk about politics for my own personal reasons, but this person continued on about the eventual winner of said election
They gushed on about how marvellous this new P.M was, and how he could do no wrong and how he could just about walk on water. I mumbled some responses until the subject became a little negative concerning my unimpressed opinion of the newly elected. Upon which I reiterated a view that the only person who went into politics with the right idea was Guy Fawkes...this was met with the response ‘who’s this Guy Fawkes guy’, So, I explained and the conversation lagged after that.
I got my boarding pass and proceeded to the boarding gate where I was pulled aside by two members of our Federal Police and was asked If I had a conversation with an American women and could I repeat it verbatim to them...After doing so, I was admonished for holding and declaring that opinion and was informed that our little tete a tete would be written down and reported to the respective department.
What irked me was that
(a) This person had felt the need to inform the authorities of a personal opinion.
(b) This person had eavesdropped and taken note of my name and relayed it onto the authorities
© Had imported her politics into another country
(d) Had pestered me about not believing in the same political values that she herself held
(e) And finally, that she had a terrible grasp on the Australian sense of humour
I was a little bemused with my experience of that day, and felt a little saddened by it all, as I felt that we had, as a population, crossed that line in the sand, and the phrase “this ain’t Kansas anymore Toto” has rolled around in my head ever since....Take Care all of You, Jon.

 3.
Canon 30D, simple to use, used on manual mainly, then aperture priority secondly.
28 - 80 kit lense, it works for me, once I got to know it's capabilities
monpod, most frequently used piece of photographic equipment
Improvements..hmm..that would have to be me.
general all-round kit that works, and as for features that would tempt me to upgrade - I can't really think of anything at present except for a way for the camera to convert lead into gold, maybe.

 4.
Thank you, I'm impressed that anybody out there would be aware of the occasion. We do have some strange fauna over here...my interest is in the Drop Bear (Thylarctos Plumettus) weighs about 120 Kg, 130 cm long , has two thumbs on each front paw, and is carnivorous. It frequents trees and will wait for ages for something to walk under that specific tree and the only known deterent has been to smear Vegemite on your face before going into the bush. Unfortunately, now that vegemite is now in the hands of a foreign corporation it's efficacy can no longer be relied upon to counteract the plunge of the drop bear. The drop Bear is a recent discovery due to the deforestation of it's native habitat where it would prey on Feral pigs, and cows. Thanks again for the best wishes, and as we say over her good night, sleep tight, don't let the drop bears bite.

00Y8GC-327075584.jpg.396978452cee893c33eb58fe472d1d56.jpg
