A new *ist d for $400, or a new K10d for slightly more than double? I really
want the dual wheel controls, that was the biggest upset when my nikon d70
collapsed on me and I needed to go to canon. thanks

Really, I can't wait! It seemed really silly to have such a sealed camera without sealing the lenses. What about metering with m42 lenses do they need the electronic adapters or can it meter with out those?

Are there any Pentax lenses that are as weather resistant as the body of the
K10d? I currently have a Canon Rebel XT I want to upgrade to something that has
weather resistant seals and there is no way I can afford, L glass and a 1d
series, so the K10d looks attractive but I have not been able to find any lenses
that say they are weather resistant. Thanks, Tim
Also, does the pentax k10d need a special m42 adapter like the EOSes do to be
able meter or can it meter with out the communication from the lenses?
Again thank you for any information you can provide.

I have used halogen lights, you have to worry about how your mixing color tempatures but I liked them with the exception of the heat they produce.

Have you ever seen the movie Brazil by Terry Gilliam? I don't know why but that tickles me in a way that reminds me of something the government would have done to "protect the citizens," maybe I missed the point of the photos and the movie but what your doing almost seems comical.
$0.02

Try reading a little here strobist.blogspot.com, I have not had the chance to try out his techniques but, I intend to when I get paid.
Hope that helps.

I was not all that impressed by Oslo when I was there, Stockholm however I really enjoyed. Lots of art, green spaces, people.

You may not find this useful, so sorry ahead of time. I own a Crumpler backpack and though it has not seen as much use as it should have yet, I enjoy it. Hope thats helpful.

Thanks for your responses guys; I guess I will have to make do with a hacked covering of my own device. I don't have the coin, as I am a college student (PAYING MY OWN WAY WITH OUT LOANS! HELL YES! sorry), to drop on a instamatic digital. Oh and not to be rude, but, I am glad my 350d is quieter than your 20d and all but when I am in the middle of a Tea Ceremony that I needed to be silent I was not saying "Wow I'm glad I don't have a 20d they would have thrown me out by now!" I would be very honored if any one could tell me of their home made "blimp" but its not to use full to tell me that its quieter than your camera because it does not solve the problem that?s akin to saying that I should be happy because the mirror slap is quieter than a Bronica S2A, sorry off the rant box.
Again Thanks a bunch,

Hi I am shooting with I Digital Rebel XT (350d)and I have noticed that my
shutter is quite loud when it comes to shooting in theaters and places with good
acoustics. I have searched around both this site and and the net seen some
suggestions for wrapping them in leather or neoprene as well as "blimps". I saw
these, http://www.camerarmor.com/, well looking for neoprene to rip apart to
play with. So to make short, has anyone tried these out, do they protect well,
and will it quite my shutter down a bit for when I have to shoot in quiet areas?
Thanks
Tim

I love my FE2, and in the past four years I have changed the coin cell once.
