1.
Sorry for the late response but I was on vacation....I just wanted to know how could I calibrate it just in case there was something wrong with it since it was bought used and at an extremely low price. On Autometer V F you can do this electronically, as I've found out. However, so far. this one is also dead on on all measurements.

  2.
I recently acquired a used Minolta Autometer V F from Ebay for 105$ (or 78€ for us in Europe). I used to own two Minolta IV Fs before and I was pretty happy with their performance and ease of use. Well V F is nothing less in terms of handling and accuracy and beside some differences, which I don't find so important e.g. the ability to measure shutter speed in 1 and 1/3 increments compare to 1/2 the IV F had and the EV range, what is really handy is the analyze scale which, if I have got it right, measures the flash light proportion to the ambient light. This way you can decide on how much natural light and flash light you want in your photo. Right?
Now what I haven't understand is why there's not the option to calibrate it as in the IV Fs by turning this "screw" in the battery compartment. Now what if someday the meter go nuts and measures let's say a stop less or more "off" from what your camera reads? How could you fix it? Or is it so much better than IV F it doesn't need this option?
Has anyone had any measuring problems so far? How you dealt with them? And which one of the two do you think is giving more accurate results?

  3.
Thank you all for your answers.
I also tend to believe the problem is caused by a broken shutter.
Ian, the owner is giving it away because of the problem, hence the relatively low price, although, according to what he's saying, he haven't take it to a service centre and verify the cause of the problem.
If it's really the shutter mechanism I wouldn't mind paying the repair cost as I have decided that sooner or later it's something that I'd have to do. You can never be sure how many shots these cameras have.
I guess I'll have to take my chances! Let's hope for the best!

  4.
I was offered a used 1D MkII, a long time dream of mine. Problem is that there is a light streak across the images the camera takes. Does that mean the sensor is about to die? Does any one had a similar experience? If that's the case I don't think a repair would come cheap....would it?
All thoughts are appreciated. You can see a photo sample here

00WhF3-252823584.jpg.007827ebda30c1699423c600606226c8.jpg

  5.
Hi there
I'm planning on buying two studio flashes to use at home on amateur base, most likely Bowens or Elinchrom and use wireless triggering. Both brands have their own remote triggering system, Pulsar and Skyport respectively.
Question is can I use one brand with the other? Can I use them with Cybersyncs, since they are much cheaper, or they won't work with other brands beside Alien Bees? Also any experience with the much cheaper Yongnuo RF triggers? Will all of those trigger remotely my camera and/or a flashgun and any knowledge about their maximum sync speed?
All help is appreciated!!!!

  6. Hi Juando

Good to see that you've solved you problem but here some hinds (just in case it happens again)

There's a good chance that the pins at the bottom of the flash are dirty or the locking pin is not coming out. Try to clean them with alcohol isopryl. You can also check if you have deactivated your flash from the camera menu. Also FL-36 won't fire if the focusing angle is too low or wide.
