  1. How do we get to the <a

    href="http://www.photo.net/community/index">Community</a> and <a

href="http://www.photo.net/neighbor">Neighbor</a> sections of the site without

knowing their URLs? There doesn't appear to be a way of getting to these pages

from the home page, or the forums page. There is a link to the Community page on

the "My workspace" page, but that seems a touch obscure. I have always thought

that the Neighbor section in particular had the makings of a really useful

resource, but having it buried away like this seems to be saying that it is no

    longer interesting.

  2. I like the idea of the "Compare/Buy" tab, however, it is a shame that your chosen comparison site links to US shops only. Given the international nature of photo.net it would be good to link either to an international site, or to different sites based on the location of the user who clicks on the tab.

    Thanks,

    Simon

  3. Yes, this happens to me all the time - if I try to log in from the homepage it doesn't work. I use multiple browsers, but all based aroudn the Gecko engine (the core of Firefox) on multiple operating systems. As a result I never log in from the home page, instead I go to the "My Portfolio" page and log in from there. That always works for me.

  4. I just noticed that my subscription to Photo.Net expired over a month

ago. I don't remember getting an notification of the expiry, which

means that I forgot to renew it. Perhaps you could implement an email

notification system to warn people that their subscriptions are about

to expire and encourage them to renew?

  5. I have tried a few, but never got on with them. Theyseem to be very firm and wanting to hold their shape no matter what, which makes it difficult to get some gear in, and means that they do not hug my body comfortably.

The Domke is a nice bag if you are happy with that little padding, alternatively the Tenba MetroPaks are like the Domke, but with more foam. I use a Tenba, see http://www.tenba.com/camera/metropak.htm.

  6. I use an EOS-300 with the 70-200/4L and have had no problems. You might want to get a different strap rather than the standard Canon one or your shoulder might suffer from the extra weight of the lens. The lens can take an optional ring tripod mount which in my opinion is essential, but it is expensive (at least over here in the UK). As for holding it, I find that if you cup the lens in the normal way the centre of gravity falls naturally on the zoom ring, so that's where I hold it when it is not on the tripod.

    Have fun with it!

    Simon.
