This is a hard face to photograph as when the light is high enough to hit the cliff, the sky is usually blown out...this is a great job in balancing! Well done!

Whoa...this is incredible. I've been there a few times...and never saw it like this...the combination of water and foliage, not to mention the blend, is truly unique. Amazing capture!

Really nice composition. Glad you got up to the mountains...really was a great foliage year up north!

Gorgeous Shot Harry! Nice to see the colors changing on the seacoast...
If you haven't been up to the mountains, the color is the best I've seen it in years!

One of the better Chocorua shots I've seen! Fantastic!

Thoughts on Composition and Contrast appreciated!

Simply stunning. Excellent in every way!

Tony,
I've stared at this falls many times in all seasons, and have yet to pull a good comp from it. It just seems so overdone, and therefore to me, limiting.
Buy here you go showing me something gorgeous, refreshing, and all in light that I wouldn't normally shoot a falls in. This is exceptional. Thank you!
Hope you had a good fall travel, the pictures coming in are gorgeous!

The snow, the light and the unfrozen lake create a color palate and atmosphere that is just stunning. Great placement of foreground elements, and a generally well composed view. Excellent shot. Great to see you back!

Love the yellow tree contrasting the strong green water!

What a gorgeous landscape. The framing between the peaks is ideal. My only nit is the lack of detail in the closest ridge...

Would love to hear thoughts on color, comp and contrast!
Thanks in advance...

Would like to hear thoughts on this...

Shot this image over the weekend...would love to hear thoughts!
Thanks in advance!

The color and atmosphere are great. I feel a disconnect between the scene, and the branches creaping in on the left. More or less would work better for me, but creeping in is tough...

Thanks Patricia,
The color cast is natural, and it has gotten mixed reviews as I put a few photos from this series out for critique. Some say it adds to the drama and atmosphere, some agree that it detracts from it.
I certainly understand where you are coming from, and I may tone it down a bit, but I try to keep my images as natural as possible to the conditions they were shot in. When I evaluate all the critique this has gotten, I'll probably try another total revision of the RAW and see what happens.
Thanks!

I have wanted a unique, powerful shot of this Maine Icon. The front line
of a thunderstorm provided that opportunity...briefly.
I'd love to hear thoughts and critiques...

Hi Ron,
Just a 2 stop hard edge ND filter and a polarizer. Other than that...this is what happened.
-
Great light and scene. My only nit is that the top of the table merges with the boats above, and I'd like to see a bit more separation.

I like the composition, but my eye does not find cohesion between the extremely dark sky and the very bright foreground. I don't know if this is a blend, or flash lit, but I don't think it is ideal...
