    What appears to be noise is actually swarms of bugs. Moments before this short, I photographed a swarm ten feet form me. I counted a cornered section and guessed there must have been about 10,000 little blood suckers.

    I'm mocking the federal governments "limp" views on protection. They

    wouldn't let the province deal with the pine beetle epidemic while in

    the protected national parks. British Columbias pine forests are

    nearly 35% dead or dying. Now the federal government is looking into

    a solution. It's like slipping the comdom on after the dirty deed.

    It took almost 5 minutes before the young deer became interested in

    me. The ear facing right is following a black bear a 100 yards away.

    I guess the bear was more of a threat than I was!
