Seward to Homer is 170 highway miles; Seward to Valdez is 500 highway miles. A major time difference if you're driving.
The Alaska Marine Highway webpage can give you the ferry times/fares.

Many think August is the best month for Denali if that's not on your list.
Enjoy your trip.

I use B&W in low light & many animals are more active when it's cooler. The above shot was taken after sunset & Moose Peterson gave it "Best of Show" for alaskaWILD 2001. Film was TMAX 400. I shot a roll of 800ASA Fuji color print film & threw them away. This is the first award that I've ever won so I'll keep shooting B&W wildlife when the light is right.

An Agfa web site gallery.
RE: the posts regarding prints. I asked a lab to do a direct print on Ilfochrome Classic & a std. print on B&W paper from an interneg. Side by side, they both looked great. I preferred the B&W paper, but a lot of people liked the Ilfochrome better. The image was of 3 bull moose in a snowstorm.
If you try some, try a few landscape shots w/ a polarizer.
