Couldn't decide on Nature or abstract category...
Any constructive advice is welcomed.

As the late afternoon sun hit the tree the colors really lit up. Too
bright??? I have another version before the sun hit the tree. It' much
duller.

Hi Larry,
I like the way you increased the vibrance on this shot. I wish I thought of that...I upped the saturation a bit before posting but I think the vibrance did a good job too. Thanks

Nice shot, bu it looks a bit over saturated to me. I would back off the green saturation a little as I can see a greenish tint in some of the water making the shot seem a bit unnatural.

Shot at the limit of close focus to soften the entire image. please

This is a beauty. Nice job with exposure to capture the many subtle red tones. I also like where you chose your focal point as the dof draws your eye right in...You may want to consider cropping some off the bottom as that bottom petal is lighter that the rest and is a bit distracting.

I cloned out the stem and the orchid appeared to be flying. I didn't
straighten it because I thought it would lose the flight effect.
Comments????

Thanks Charles,
I'm glad you like the shot. You seem to have appreciated my original intent of the 3D effect pulling you in...

Hi Jon,
Thanks for the critique. I looked at your shot of the same type of flower & I really like it. The one you saw has much more red tones in it and as you said it really does contrast well with the greens. You also have a nice dof so the whole flower is in focus.
I appreciate your critique and I will try another version with less saturation and maybe a bit less closely cropped.
I just wish I had another version with more dof.
Thanks again,

Jerry

This is actually a cropped section of a larger shot, not a macro. What
do you think? I increased saturation of reds & yellows a bit. Did I go
too far?
-
This is the cropped center of a much larger shot. Comments appreciated.

I was going to crop it a bit tighter to get rid of the distraction in the upper
right but that would have also taken out some of the pipes. What do
you think?

What a sensual shot!!! Normally you would want to see the model's eyes, but here you created a masterpiece with her eyes shut(or almost shut, I can't tell on this monitor). Either way...terrific. Beautiful model. Great lighting, expression and position. Everything works.

Nice shot, El...
Having worked with a 1.2 in the past(can't afford one now), I know that it wasn't easy for you to achieve such sharp focus on a subject moving away from you due to the shallow DOF of the lens. This is masterful...was it a candid or is she a model???
Either way, just excellent, Great focus, lighting and the DOF is right on. you can feel her mood and her motion by the body position you captured.
GREAT WORK

Any opinions on whether the shadows help or ruin this shot...
Thanks

This is just a WINNER from top to bottom. Your timing was amazing. If I had to knitpick, the only thing I see are some marks on the bg just below the branch straight down from the camellion's neck...a simple fix & not enough to affect the 7/7 score.

Jerry
