Brighton & Hove seafront seen in a different light.
Comments welcome, thanks DG.

OK so I admit I was seething a little earlier about the "fine art" issue but I have a degree in the subject and I don't like things being misrepresented! sorry I'm a sad picky git!:)
This image is a fantastic example of beaty in simplicity. clearly taken with an understanding of composition and the technicalities of exposure etc, etc....
truth is I really couldn't care less about the "rules", this is just a great example of the camera recording a beautiful scene. I'd be a happy man if I'd taken it and it's a refreshing example of the talent that is out there in between flower macro shots and the ubiquitous child portraits!
thanks Alpo for giving me something to enjoy looking at!

P.S. maybe crop a bit of empty sky off the right side?! sorry man couldn't resist!

great shot! just ditch the border, it looks a bit odd and detracts from the nice subtle tones of the imge.

surely this is a landscape shot? great shot but not even remotely close to a fine art image! great colours, nice idea that works well, great stuff, keep it up!

One of my "writings on the wall" series, found it deeply ironic considering where the
character was drawn. Great piece of drawing as well as a pertinent message to the image.
Brighton 2006.
say what you want, if you care....

Allison,
I really like th subject matter but feel the idea is lost in the piece (if indeed there is another idea behind it aside from aesthetics?) but it has the possibility to become a series of architectural details - try concentrating on unusually coloured windows/derelict buildings...it's up to you but you've definitely hit upon something interesting with this picture!
keep up the good work!

This picture needs to be black and white, please make it so!
the colour detracts from the graphical and contrasty nature of this image. with regards to the
cropping I would crop it just above the lamps to avoid that rogue open shutter at the top.
good image though, like it.

Step back and look at this picture and ask yourself what it was you like about it and shoot it again without flash, use a tripod, put the self timer on and let the camera do the rest. should turn out ok and go easy on the contrast!

Really like idea, nice light and classical nude fugure, I would maybe remove moles from models skin and turn to b&w but lighten up the hair and keep it red in final image.
anyone else?

Techically a nice pic of an interesting structure but aesthetically...
This angle of view makes me feel like I'm gonna fall off my chair! is the building really at that angle? if not try getting the back of the camera as parallel to the building as possible (avoiding the converging top to the building) and play with dawn/dusk light and with details as well - there's a thousand pictures in that building, make it a project as it has potential!
Speak to the architectual people for some pointers..
DG
p.s. can you elaborate on the title? is the building shot at that angle deliberately to emphasise it's evil?

another observation, payphones need love too..
