1.
Hi,

I have used D810 at 12800 ISO & have printed it out to 24"x16" (native size of D810). Images are extremely good and retains depth, tonality & good colors - of course not like at low iso images but it is excellent. Grain is not bothersome. Oh! the printed images were shot in available mixed lighting too. Make sure the exposure is accurate though.

I have also briefly shot using the D4S which seems to have similar quality one stop higher at 25600 ISO. I did not print the images though.
Regards
Issac

 3.
Hello friends,
Today's thread has several stunning pictures.
John DiLeo Lovely abstract theme to your image - was it a multi-exposure. Simply very good.
Jennifer What a tranquil landscape though it's farmland. Nice.
My submission for this week from the restoration site of the Parur Synagogue (Kerala, India). Traditional craftsmen at work concreting the passageway.
D700 coupled with the 180mm F/2.8 AF-D at F/3.2, 1/800 Sec ISO 800. Handheld.
4.
Hello everybody,

I've not posted on this forum for sometime, though I did regularly visit the "Wednesday Pic" postings every week .

As usual, most of the pictures today are exceptional. Amongst those that really captivated me are:

Matt Laur - I keep going back to this image. You have really captured the "love" here. Wow!
Greg Kowalczewski - Impressive. Where did you get this picture? I believe these are nocturnal birds & sort of rare.
Michael Mixon - Quite a sensitive portrait. Congratulations!
Jennifer Meighan - Good picture. Was this a studio shot?
Ton Mestrom - Wow! strong definite expressions from all the subjects. Arresting.
Dieter Schaefer - Love your picture for the surreal colors. HDR has made the picture soft (is it deliberate?)
Shun Cheung - The patterns in the sand contrast quite well to the featureless sky. Running boy adds a compelling interest.
Janne Kaakinen - Your picture imparts a feeling of calm. It's very good!
I shot this river last week. We have rains in our State now - good time for some pretty photography. This was my first outdoor outing with my new 24mm PC-E F/3.5 Nikkor. This lens is really something. I have not changed the orientation of the Tilt feature (which is desirable for Landscapes).
Please keep up the pictures coming in - Wednesday really perks me up.

~~ Issac Sam

00WojN-257741684.jpg.459d70a4c0f6bbbfa212cecf1daac27c.jpg

 5.
Happy Wednesday everybody,
Some stunning pics this week. My contribution for this week was is the shot of a farm hand going fishing in a harvested rice field. Often fields in South India are used for growing fishes after harvesting the crop. Fetches the farmers additional income & also seem to increase their yield.
Shot using a 300mm F/4 AFS coupled with the TC-14EII 1.4X Teleconvertor. Post processed to sepia tone.
Cheers everybody
Issac

00WIAF-238215584.jpg.bfeec51da0801d82052c2b77a38b812f.jpg

Happy Wednesday everybody.
Some great pictures this week. The "Pod of Life" was shot yesterday. Had a Mono strobe shooting into the pod.
D700 with 55mm F/2.8 Micro Nikkor.

My pick for today.

Gej Jones The Palms sure look very nice & detailed.
Caillum Smith Good one. Beautiful colors.
Tiffany Brook Tender!
Rick Moran Nice shot. Is the bird in its breeding plumage - really saturated colors.
Dieter Schaefer Marvellous. Seems like it's a painting.
Greg Kowalczewski The bird sure looks like a bird of prey. Good composition.
Apurva Madia A nice composition featuring vertical lines.
Ray Gosalia A faster shutterspeed would've helped eliminate the camera shake. Already at a High ISO though. BUT a superb composition especially since the model wasn't posing for you!
Wayne Wrights Birds sure turn me on. Lovely picture.
Doug Santo Is this a cropped shot? Just curious?
Benjamin Schaefer Ben, how did you get so close to this Pelican? I simply love the color & the sharpness. Does you new lens show any of the "specks" inside the lens?
Keep the lovely pictures coming in.
8.
Hello everybody,

This week's got some great pics. Good effort everyone.
My contribution for this week is a shot of Blue Tailed Bee eaters. These guys were having a great time snapping up Bees, dragonflies & the like. Was not fortunate enough to get a bee-eater catching its prey in flight - but I'm working on that :).
Shot this pic using a D700 with a 300mm F/4 AFS lens coupled with a TC-14EII. ISO:1600, Shutter Speed: 1/1000 @ F8. Handheld.
My top ones for this week (not in order of ranking though) till now:
Darko Vrsic - Interesting!
Gary McGhee - Park at your own risk, eh? Out of curiosity - how long do these places remain flooded?
Erik Christensen - This portrait is excellent. Keep it coming.
Robert Davies - Natural expression. Love that. Perhaps you could've taken out the color cast.
Richard Armstrong - Wow & it's quite detailed. Lucky to have such beauties visiting your backyard.
Carey Moulton - Abstract??
Shun Cheung - Nice composition & spot on exposure. Think the pic's got a bit of color cast.
Francesco Pessolano - Your toddler seem to be in a world of his own. Good one.
Epp B - Good picture. What exactly is this structure?

Hello Everyone,
It's my favourite day of the week. My picture for today was not taken recently, actually took this portrait in 2007.
NIKON D200 & 18-70mm Nikkor DX Kit lens Handheld at 1/40sec at approx. 40mm.
Some very good pictures this week. Keep it up people.

 10.
Hello everyone,
I had a photoshoot at a beachside resort last saturday. The Chef at the resort had done a seafood platter for the guests, not part of the shoot though. Captured the delicious food. No props or styling done - just a quick straight shot with Elinchrome 400FXRi providing the key light and a white reflector for the fill. The manual 105mm 2.5 lens, originally meant to be a portrait lens, was used for this shot. Lovely lens, great saturation and stunning color rendering. The tech stuff - 105mm f2.5 Ai lens on a Nikon D700; 1/200S @ F/16 handheld.
Meanwhile, some good pictures in the list this week:
Matthew Brennan - I tend to agree with you, had you chosen a better location, the pic would've been super. Love those quaint colors.
Jana - Great. Nice tone.
Monika Epsefass - you got some lovely colors in your area.
Luis Argüelles - I must hand it to you. Really observant and super picture too.
Eric Arnold - Blue peacocks, halloween brings out the costumed characters in all their glory.
Sanford Gerald - Wow!
Alejandro Held - Solid subject and good composition.
Dan South - I like the way you've composed the picture. You people have such awesome colors during autumn.
Jonas Fjellstedt - Good capture. Though HDR, you've not gone overboard with the colors. Equally good composition too.
Jeannean Buglady - downright creepy. That guy is a CHARACTER.
Louis Meluso - Nice portrait and excellent composition.
John Morris - I love this sensitive portrait.
Rick Dohme - You have captured his intense focus. This picture would've been stunning if it was not this grainy. Colors too seem to be off. Is this a OOC Jpeg and a hard crop?
Joe Elrod - Crazy people.
Brian Chmura - you are good. The colors are quaint too. Good one.
John Novince - You've cropped too much. A longer lens would have worked better if you needed a tight composition or maybe you could have moved in closer. The picture is good though.
Charles Becker - The compositon and subject selection adds drama to the scene. I think you need to sharpen the picture a bit. It looks fuzzy.
Gary McGhee - Credible effort.
Doug Santo - Is this HDR?
Paula Wang - Bravo. Superb.
Thanks people.

Hello everybody,
It's nice to see some lovely pictures today.
I was birding in the village of Koondukulam, in Tamilnadu, INDIA when I saw this lady farmworker weeding out the paddy fields very early in the morning. The morning dew added a sense of chill while the sunlight struck her in a good angle. Shot this image, handheld from my car, with a 300mm F/4 AFS coupled with a TC-14EII on a D700. Had a -0.33 stop dialled in. Could've shot this scene with a more appropriate focal range though, if I was willing to get off the car. But I was gunning for some Spo-billed Pelican shots before the light got too harsh. In these parts, it happens very fast too.

Francesco – Great composition. Wow!
Jana – Nice. A slightly wider composition would've been even better. Nice tone too.
Keil – Good one.
Richard Armstrong – Cute. I just love these furries.
Benjamin – Is it my monitor/eyes. Can't see much detail.
Mark Gordon – A tighter composition would've made this a WOW pic.
David Love – Touching & poignant. :)
Louis Meluso – Great. Thumbs up.
Scott Murphy – Love this composition and fine detailed picture.
keerthi s – Heh! Heh! Good one.
James Kazan – Magnificient. Amazingly good abstract.
Terry Roberts – Superb tone. :)
Keep it up people.
12.
This is my first post on this forum.
I'll start of with this shot of a Lion Tailed Macaque and its small kid. The adult was taking the kid around teaching it to do a few 'monkey' tricks.
Thanks.

00UYzT-175103584.jpg.82d6356880d3e9b3b065bdba8e303a91.jpg
