Hi guys,
My First camera was a D40X, then i bought a D200 and i have a D7000 actually.

Im going to sell the first 2 bodies, and I was checking every single option to make sure everything is fine and dont sell something that might not be working properly.

With both bodies ( D40X and D200) there are some certain moments that I try to take a picture and they just don take it. What exactly happens is this:

I focus a random area, press the shutter half way, the cameras focus and make the typical sound that let you know that it focused and if you want to shoot just press all the way the shutter. Well, after that i continue pressing the button all the way and the cameras just dont take the picture. This is happening Randomly, sometimes i take 50 frames without any problem, but when I find one subject that the cameras fail, they will always fail pointing at the same spot both cameras. It is like... this Spot, subject would has some special characteristics that the cameras fail!
I though it could be the lens, the body, etc, so i I tried this with the 18-55 lens, one 18-70 lens and it kept happening the same thing.

After 1 hour testing, I realized that if I do the same thing, but WITHOUT the built in Flash, it just work perfectly fine, never failed any the of the cameras with any of the lenses. AND i tried same thing but with a SB600 mounted, and NEVER had any issues with the cameras... ( BTW, i aimed exactly the same spot where the cameras were having issues with thew built in flash)

SO.... Here is the question... Is this normal? Does this happen with any camera with the built in flash? ( I rarely use thebuilt in flash, I always have a tripod, fast lenses or a Flash unit)

BTW, the cameras are not heavily used, they must be around 13k Shutter actions each or less.

Thanks For your help guys!!!

I think you could buy the New Nikon 10-450 mm 1.2f...

Im just kidding, i think you have plenty of lenses to achieve any diferent results. For portrait i regularly use Nikok 50mm 1.8, sigma 30 1.4. They are pretty good. The nikon is extremely sharp!!

I think is all about the lighting. They reminded me a lot about Dave Hill Images. Of course, there is some kinda of PostProcessing, but I can see there there is almost NO shadow(s) at all on the images, or they are pretty soft. It is not easy to find all the Light, You just have to pay atention to Bright Areas.

His work is very very good, have you tried contact the guy? He seems pretty Steady on his business, i dont think he would mind give you a help

Hi,

I havent read the whole thing. The only comment that I could add is that we have to Start working out of Prints. Technology is involving us every day more and more. What I do is give them a Package that Includes some Images printed at my prices, and y also give them a DVD with all the Images. Of course, I sell them the DVD, and there are 2 DVD's, one with watermarts on the images, and one without them, of course, the last one is more expensive.

I bet, in the next 5 years, people will stp printing, and they will start showing albumes on their iphones, ipads, or those Digital Portraits, etc, etc, etc. so we need to adapt the business to the Future.

I think u are pushing that lens too much too. I rarely use the lenses at their min or max aperture, they always lose their good abilities, I.E: I Have one 30 mm 1.4 and everytime I use it at 1.4, the pictures come out bad. or y also have one 10-20 mm, and at 10 mm F22 the images are awefull!:(

Portraiting a new born is not that easy, they cant sit down by themself until about 6 months old or more.

I would go for a Nikon 50 mm. 10 mm is a lot in this situation, and the aperture of this lense will give you great portraits, and then u can still using it for family portrait.

Full Frame?
in Nikon

The worst Problem i am dealing with right now is the Noise on Images. For Weddings, i need to shot with a fast lenses, Even if I shoot with my Siga 30 mm 1.4, i have to set up the D200 to 400 Uso aprox, and i dont like that much of noise. I had to apply to 900 images noise reduc filter on photoshop batching them ..:-O
-
Full Frame?
in Nikon

Hi Guys,

I already have a Nikon D200 with a 70-300 VR, sigma 30 1.4, sigma 10-20, and some alienbees..

The Question... When should i get a Full Frame, and Why all the Full frames From Nikon are so Expensive??? Canon has such a Cheap FUll Frame, but nikon they are over 2.5 the cheapest.

The Type of work i develope, is Weddings, Parties, Models, so i have no idea if i should get a Full Frame or just Upgrade to D300s...

Any Advance?

Hi guys,

My 18-70 mm 3.5-4.5G is broken. I bought it second hand on $150, i dont think ill send it to repair, could me more than that!...
So, im looking for something Similar, could be nikon or sigma ( cause of the price), but i dont really know a lot about lenses. I was looking the 24-70 nikon, but: over $1600 and since i have a kid, is too much money to spend on one lens for now:-(. Id like to hear some suggestions, i dond mind buying second hand lenses if they are in good conditions, and a fast lens would be great. I sawe the Sigma 24-70 Macro 2.8, but dont know anythibng about it.

I have a Nikon D200, and probably could get a Nikon D300s soon.

Thanks for any recomendation!

Hi Guys!...

I just recently shoted a Wedding of good friends, and they are very happy with the results. I showed them that if they want, we could build a Photo Album with WHCC, since ive been working with them just for Metallic Prints and Press Printed book, but certainly i dont have too much Information about their albums.

Anyone could help a lilttle bit? if someone has any real Images of Example albums or albums that you have created i would really appreciate it.

I would like to hear some opinions, since the price is real high vs Press Printed books!:-O

I thought about preapring it with 10x10 size, and already have some templates to design each page on photshop.

thanks guys!

What i Meant, is that WHCC has the Standout Frame 24x36 at $136. So, Should i charge $400 for this frame?....

Hi Guys,

I was wondering about how much do you increase the prices for prints?

For example, For Customers, I sell 4x6 4 $ aprox., 5x7 $5, 10x8 $10, Since ive seen prices like around this amount.

But, How much would i charge for a Standout Frame 24x36 that is around $136? Double? 3 times? how can i determine this? Or some kind of Canvas Stretcher Frame same size that is around $114?

thanks!

Same problem on D200 and D40X... or any Body?
in Nikon

Hi guys, Thanks for the comments.

The problem comes after the cameras focus. This means, that the Cameras are able to focus, and there are enough contrast on the image, thats why they focus.

Regularly, goes this way:

1- Compose
2- Press half way shutter ( camera focus and then lock)
3- Continue pressing shutter to take picture
4- Release Shutter

Where the cameras fail is on the Step 3, I press as hard as I can the shutter but nothing (WITH the built in Flash).

The Autofocus Assist light has nothing to do on this case, cause the camera works 100 % perfect with Built in flash closed.
