    As Ben said in the previous comment... Faster shutter speed, more light. For every double of the shutter speed, you are decreasing the light by half. A faster lens would be of benefit (f1.4, f1.8,..) If your camera has Shutter Priority mode, by increasing the shutter speed, it should adjust your aperature accordingly.

    Faster Shutter speed is needed to freeze the action. Not knowing what kind of equipment you are using, it is hard to direct you to the easiest path forward, other than FASTER SHUTTER SPEED.
