after constantly being misfortunate in my quest for a decent condition Nikon
F4s, i have started to look at other cameras.I have done most of my "shopping"
on craigslist and find what seem to be good deals all the time.
For 550$ (maybe negotiable) he wants to sell me a MINT Nikon F100 which has
been proclaimed to be barely used.this offfer also comes with a Speedlight SB-
28DX flash as well as a Nikkor 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5D/F Lens and it is said that
this is all in very mint condition something about his father moving on to
digital only right after buying an F100 and consequently, her getting it. is
this a good deal?!?!? also my other thing is, im very into the manual aspects
of photography and was curious as to if my older lenses would even be
compatible. they are the following-
-KIRON 105mm f/2.8 MACRO 1:1 (fully manual)
-AF NIKKOR 70-210mm 1:4 (Auto or maunal focus)
Nikon LENS SERIES E 28mm 1:2.8 (manual)
now i know all of those are way outdated but none the less love them and would
hope to be able to use them with an f100 but would still be interested in the
f100 even if i couldnt.
so please anything and everything helps and contribute what you may

i have been comunicating witha lady who is interested in sellling me some of
her equiptment for 400$ total. the offer includes-
-A nikon F4s Camera Body (she rated it condition wise with a 7 or 8 out of 10)
-an MB- 21
- an SB-24 speedlight flash with appropriate cords
-An SD7 batter pack for the flash
-and, a remote for the camera
all for only 400$. she seems very reliable and legit, as i have been
conversing with her on and off for aprx. 3 months now. It's in my state and
she said she'd meet me halfway to pick it up. should i go throught with it?
why or why not. (also, what exactly is the SD7 and what is it used for?)
thanks you guys so much for your help in the past and now hopefullly now

so i have been contemplating purchasing one of two nikon products.. either the
F4 or the F4s. However I can find nothing comparing and contrasting the
two...So, i was wondering if maybe some of you guys could help me out.
-Which of the two is newer?
-Is the F4s supposed to be the next step up from an F4 is juist entirely
different or just preference?
-If you could buy either of the two for say the same price, which would you
choose and why?
i think if i understand correctly , the f4s is like the next step up from an f4
in which case i would choose the f4s. and ultimately, i can get either of the
two for relitively the same price.so please help me out.
thanks, Dylan

I just bought an F100 with a 28-105mm lens and an SB-28DX for 525$ about an
hour ago and all of the camera functions seem to work flawlessly. My only
cpncern is, is that when i turn the camera to OFF, the LCD screen still has
an "E" in the bottom right hand corner and the little bracket symbol is to the
left of the E with a line going across the top fourth of the LCD. Is this
normal??? do those little bits just remain lit as the camera is off? or have i
not completely turned it off?
thanks Dylan
