Thanks for all your answers. It is indeed coming out of the flash. When the flash is up, I head no noise. Guess I can live with it.

I recently bought a Rebel XTi and an 18-55mm IS lens. I noticed that when the

lens is shaken lightly, a clicking sound can be heard. Also, when I walk with

the camera in my hand, I can hear the sound. Is that normal for IS lenses?

Will such gentle shakes as the ones caused by normal walking damage the lens?

What's the proper way to carry the camera when you walk around?

Previously when I chose free shipping with Amazon, the items were delivered in 2 or 3 days. But this time, the camera and the lens that I ordered on 12/21 slept for 3 days somewhere in Tennessee and arrived on 12/27. That didn't bother me as the items weren't damaged after such a prolonged adventure.

Thanks for all your answers. I tried converting with DPP and the 9 mb raw exploded into a 50 mb monster. Guess I will just take jpeg's until I'm ready for the CS3 upgrade.

Just got a Rebel XTi. I have Photoshop 7.0 and hesitate to spend close to

$1,000 for CS3. Is there a way to read/edit XTi RAW on PS7?

Hi, Emma, I'm not a photographer but a software developer. See if you can use the disk utility which came with the card and your computer, not your camera, format the card making sure the entire 2GB is being formatted.

Stay away from expresscameras.com also. They list low prices on sites such as bizrate.com and, when you call, battery, charger, card are added for hundreds more. I heard buydig is reliable. Their rates are quite competible.

Does Canon's double rebate mean that if you buy a 5D (rebate amt: $300) and a

24-70/2.8L (rebate: $50), you get $700 back? Looks like an extremely tempting

deal. Does this mean that Canon may announce a successor to 5D before next

summer?

Is there any problem with getting an XTi and a 24-70/2.8L? The lens can be

used with a FF body if I can ever afford it.
