    The Strom III

          2

A Storm that went by the other night. Got a few nice shots but lost

alot due to Focus (or lack there of).

I am very interested in any techniques anyone might have, and willing

to share, on getting the perfect focus when shooting at night.

All other comments also welcome. Thanks for looking.

This is almost certainly High Dynamic Range. There is so much detail and light behind the subject yet there is still alot of detail in the foreground and the subject itself. The contrast makes the image look almost computer generated. Well done...
  1. What a portrait... She is looking at something, and the expression on her face really makes you wonder what it is. The tones in the photo seem to make it a little flat, I would have liked to see just a little more of her face. Well done...

Experimenting with RAW image processing. On a recent trip to visit a

vendor in Sydney, from the 13th floor of the building, this was the

view. If you look closely on the top of the Harbour Bridge you can

see a group of people climbing the bridge, just to the right of the

top of the bridge you can also see another group, are they coming

    down or going up ?

    Thanx for looking, John

Well done... It is a blue Plasma Dolphin Lamp.... I wanted to trial exposure times and the results where great. I have more of the shots taken during this experiment on my portfolio.

    Cheers

This pic was taken during a recent walk through a local rainforest.

I have been experimenting with using RAW image formats and the post

processing. So far I have found it relatively simple with some good

results. I have found however that it can be very process intensive

taking alot longer to process my photo's. I would be interested in

any tips anyone has to offer.

I am trying to test a new Macro lense. It doesn't appear all that

sharp to me, but then again most of the components on the board are

smaller than the end of a pencil.

    Female Orb Spider

This was a female Orb spider that has been living at the back of my

house. On this particular night I seen her eat/drink almost the

    entire cicada.

Interested in comments on DOF. Being night time I had aperture way

open and as a result have lost focus on the front and rear legs.

Extremely well framed and shot. This has to be one of the most interesting Moon shots that I have seen so far. The silhouette of the tree and the size of the moon is fantastic. I also like that it is off centre and the "frame" around it just sets it all. Well done Pulok !

    Kanishka,

A thought for straightening up the buildings... Try a program called Hugin. It is designed for stitching panorama's together but it might work for what you need.

    Hi Everyone,

I am new to the SLR Photography scene and recently started taking

    photographs at night !

One of the things I am really having trouble with at the moment is

focus.. There is often little light available for me to clearly see

if I have the focus correct. I am using Manual focus.

    Would love some feed back.
