<p>I have the computer. What they are looking for is someone to photograph and print onsite for the customer to take home. No real editing will be required. I could just remove the card and plug into the printer. (I already have this capability) I kind of like David’s setup because it is more versatile. I am not looking at a lot of volume. My client stages a dancing competition a couple of times a month. They want to give each contestant a photograph, two per couple and have a digital file for themselves. The contest usually have about 20 – 30 teams. The events last several hours so time frame is not a major factor. I have other interest that would make a setup like David’s more reasonable. I guess its time to go to a pro camera shop.</p>

<p>I need a quick answer; I am an old film guy moving into the digital world. (A little late). I have been contacted to do some onsite photo and print gigs starting right after the holidays. I am looking to see what kind of setups you guys use. I guess what I am looking for is a digital camera to software program to printer. I have a budget so please keep that it mind<br>
Thanks</p>

I am presently looking into digital systems that allow you to shoot,
proof, and deliver final prints during an event. I don't know if
this is the right forum, however, if any of you have any experience
doing this I would like to hear from you. Most of the events will
probaly be youth sports related but some will be reunions, trades
shows, etc.

Todd,
Back when I was in the business I would do a large group shot. (I got the idea from some long forgotten famous photographer). If the hall had a stage I would get up on in or I would carry a 6' ladder. It was a birdseye view if the group.

I will be returning back to the event & wedding business sometime
this year. I am bascially set up for film, (EOS3-7N-Rebel G) but I
am looking into digital. With film I know I can expose the film,
send it out for process & proofs, and load a proof album. With the
exception of the cost of the film and film processing what is the
major advantages of using digital? How do you do the proofs? and how
much time to you need to spend in Photoshop before presenting final
prints? I quess what I am asking is if I know my lab can provide me
with decent proofs and prints from my negs will I be able to get the
same results handing them a memory card?
