  1. The pdf of the rules for the contests is inaccessible. It is hashtagged to a fellow member if you copy the url to your browser... A hashtagbug? I participate for the first time and I'd like to know. Couple of bugs more: When I try to update my account information, I enter my address but when I try to save the information it reminds me in red that I have to input an address thus unable to save... Secondly, while on my workspace I can't go to my profile. I get the 404 error. Perhaps because I recently renew my membership, I don't know, but it looks like a bug...
  2. I know its late night there but I'm awake here and ready to mention a couple of observations.

Something minor. About the bigger bold letters in the forums. Maybe they could be slightly less blue. Not to change the tone but the density of the color (more grayish).Just a bit.

And something major (for me) in which I'm going to give you my personal view.

In the portfolio view, the kind of warm gray tone seemed more inviting to me. I don't mean that the warmth of the background is wrong now, but I'm just giving you my impression in comparison.

    Still not my main concern...

Considering the fact that I have a lot of folders that contain 3-4 images, all arranged in just one line within the folders, my main concern is, that I'm getting the impression of these images floating (not so pleasantly) into the folder background. The empty space under the images looks like (I repeat 'looks like') bigger than the one above them. Maybe (and probably) the length is the same but the gray box that contains the title of each folder creates this impression by making the above space to look sorter than the one under the images. The lighter background seems to increase this effect. I wouldn't be so sure (sometimes tiredness or other reasons may give a wrong impression) but there was a friend here last night (whose visual ability I value a lot), who confirmed that there is such an impression.

I hope the only solution is not to rearrange the folders in order to have more images and therefor more lines of images to eliminate this effect.

In any case, I hope I'm helping.

  3. Ruud.

You are a newbie here, so, allow me to tell you that your "case" looks completely different from this one. And from the few photos you rated high so far, but mostly according to your comments, it seems its going to remain different, I guess. So, its simple. Try not to mix up different things. My 0.002

  4. Mike, thank you but the whole case was about the magic resent ratings and not the "all ratings" tab, which Walter explained before why this is happening occasionally.

Walter, once more: I tried to read your explanation in 10-15 seconds and I missed of course all the meaning...and I was late at work, finally.

  5. Walter! Sorry! I was such in a hurry, and still am. I did not know that from the by category critique forum (or "rate photos" by category tab) are anonymous also but separated from the others or something like that :) However, your contribution is valuable nevertheless. I only read it very fast. Best regards.
  6. I, again, was asking something quite certain (as I learn to live and breath with this problem so far - it is such a common problem in the human nature) witch had to do with the 8 anonymous ratings coming all from the "rate photos" tab and only from there.

I'll accept administrator's explanation, thank you for the interest and add that I am from those who believe that if the problem could be solved somehow, the next similar problem would appear almost immediately :) But, of course, you never know...One day...

  7. Certenly. I don't know what I should have done without this background, in photography. And as someone should "open" his/her eyes by drawing with charcoal and painting with simple colors (color dust, plastic medium and water- excuse my english if you please), he/she should "open" the mind also by reading carefully the history of philosophy of aesthetics (M. C. Beardsley for example), as the general visual experience, a dfferent level of "seeing", requires cooperation of the eye and the mind (I'm seeing things better now...but what am I seeing and with what each moment?) Don't we have to deal with the art of illusion? Please correct me if I am wrong.
