Extra film thickness could cause film advance problem. The same problem just occured to me on a 120 GS-1 back (with 120 film) at frame #9. The roll could not easily wind, for some reason I could not tell. I think if film advance becomes stiff, then the advance knob ceases to work.

Are you using 120 or 220 film ?

Thanks all for you much appreciated comments. Reading again my post, I would correct : lens make a _mere_ noise (not sheer). The lens actually seems to work fine. I checked my 100mm and it appears to be doing the same kind of noise, though not as much. Once mounted, the lens still makes a bit of this noise. I might have been overreacting on this !
Thanks anyway !

Sorry if this is inappropriate, I just keep wondering why a recently acquired PG
lens (50mm) makes a strange mechanical noise around the cocking lever. Sounds
like a loose chain or spring. When you shake the lens, it makes a sheer noise,
like a maraca, or like shaking an hourglass. Has anyone else experienced this ?

I am also new to this game (own a Bronica GS), and have successfully exposed a 120 velvia roll using a pentax LX as reference. This particular camera has OTF metering, and proved rather accurate.

Try a search on this very forum. Lots of subjective opinions scattered among the threads. Good luck !

I have had very good experience in the 35mm world using m42 screw mount zeiss
lens on Pentax K mount bodies. I was wondering if anyone tried using the
Pentacon Six Zeiss lenses from the 70s onto a Pentax 645. Are these good quality
in today's standards ? Any experience on the subject out there ?
