Hi, I have a 1.4 w/sn ~1,006,000 and I'm really not happy with the resolution in the center at 1.4. The
vignetting I'm fine with, but the center...I don't think I can go beyond a 4x6 print. I've read that the
>1,100,000 lenses are graded "B" in the center at 1.4, as opposed to the "C" that my lens gets.

Has anybody used one from both of these groups who might be able to confirm that there is a marked
improvement to the center? If so, I think I'll hunt for one of those.
I also noted that the MiJ 1.8 (which I also have) gets a "C" grade. I like the results from my 1.8, but I
want be able to step back from my subjects a bit and still get some "pop."
Thank you for any help!

Personally, I like how the redhead, trying so hard to be the focus of attention, isn't.

question about the OM 50 1.4 variations
in Olympus
Posted
Thanks guys! Honestly, this was only my first roll with the lens, and I think I may be the weak
variable in the link. I guess using a 1.4 wide open involves more responsibility on my part,
because I just looked back at the files, and on some, I can now clearly see that I missed
focus. I also took the negs to another lab, and they generally now look a little better. On
some, I used two stacked 4xND filters, and their quality is poor... so I think I'll invest in one
high-quality 8x. I'll try to enclose one of the shots that I think came out okay. Thank you
again for the replies.<div></div>
