I also like it, despite the lack of a "clear subject". Reminds me of parts of the English east coast. Thought it might look good in black & white... hope you don't object to the conversion.

I've visited Castlerigg several times & never managed go get a shot that I was really satisfied with. Think you've done a really good job with this one. Keep up the good work... :-)

The "red tower on the left" is the campanile (bell tower) of the church.

The building is the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore by Palladio. The view from the campanile is arguably the best in Venice...

That's the campanile in Florence...

Think it might be Burano...

Good composition, prefer it in black & white though...

It's a "classic" view but I think it's lacking in depth/impact - could possibly do with a bit more contrast. Maybe a problem with B&W conversion (in the absence of any technical info I'm assuming it's originally a colour digital image? - correct me if I'm wrong). Brings back pleasant memories though.

I can understand why you were not satisfied with the original - but - this "fix" is dreadful, looks completely wrong... it's nothing to do with how well the manipulation is done, it's just that there's no point in doing it in the first place.....
