Thanks for taking the time and for some great feedback, I agree the original picture could do with some cropping at the top and bottom. It's great to get constructive feedback like that. I'd like to change the contrast in the middle a bit to see what the results were, unfortunately my Photoshop skill aren't that finely tuned yet :-)

I created another photos with not so much dark highlighting taking in some of your recomdentations

I think with the foreground lighter some of it is distracting but there is more clarity. I'd be interessted to know if you think it is an improvement.
