    Pleasing Dunes

          4

This is a great spot. I was lucky enough to visit her only around 3 weeks ago. This is a nice shot but this place was just so easy to shoot. I would have wanted more light to really show the clarity. I am going to put some of my photos up soon so take a look and let's exchange critques.

    regards

Love the sky and ocean especially the sky but it looks like the rocks to the right are too defined. Maybe too much contrast and sharpening. I think less would have been better in this image but very nice compostion.

Yes, I agree. I would have loved to capture this picture in May when many flowers were out but I was there in July and this is how it was. The light was very tricky here because at Glacier park any photo taken after 7 am is too late. The lighting is soooo blue and hazy.I do have some other pics of another glacier on the other side that has a more orange and red tone to it but again this is how it was and I did not want to manipulate it into something that is not so.

As for the angle. If I had a fish eye lens It would be great but to tell you quite honestly this is the angle that I wanted. I like it.

Thanks so much for your comments.I will try to find more photos of this area and I am planning to make a trip back during another season.

  1. Ha! Never really thought about it. This shot was taken in Bandon,Oregon. We just happened to stumble on this place and it was a gorgeous evening. I saw this great reflection and took a couple of shots and visualized this one shot a couple of seconds before it came to be. It happened in the moment and I guess it would have felt weird if I planned it.

Thanks for the comment I appreciate it!

Very original shot due to the bird. I love the contrast of the desert and ocean as well but the sand dunes right before the ocean in the upper left look a little weird to me. I think it is the light and exposure of the sky and water. Did you alter this pic much??
  2. I like your PS skills. Looks like you spent time on this photo. However, for me this doesn't seem like a photo feels like an illustration. This would be a great style for a children's book. I am not saying this picture but your style.

    I like it.
