  1. Overall, it is the compositions that are great about this photographic series. The windows have curved corners instead of sharp ones; the people subjects are moving in different directions with some staring through the windows; and the windows appear to have just the right amount of haziness/reflections to make them interesting. These photos appear to be candid which often makes for better photographs than those that are posed. Oh, I nearly forgot about the lantern in the right, top corner that appears to be floating in the air and/or hanging from the street lamp. This positioning is a stroke of genius! (I do not believe the photographer took this photo in the United States however. (Where does one find oil lanterns hanging outside?)
  2. I like the foreshortening, perspective, colors and implied movement. The locomotive seems to be moving into the power side (right side) of the composition. Green and black are exciting colors for a locomotive; colors that I do not recall ever seeing. However, one, small thing troubles me about this photo. There is no dirt or grease anywhere. Does such a thing as a clean locomotive exist? Aesthetics=6, Originality=4
