Overall, it is the compositions that are great about this photographic series. The windows have curved corners instead of sharp ones; the people subjects are moving in different directions with some staring through the windows; and the windows appear to have just the right amount of haziness/reflections to make them interesting. These photos appear to be candid which often makes for better photographs than those that are posed. Oh, I nearly forgot about the lantern in the right, top corner that appears to be floating in the air and/or hanging from the street lamp. This positioning is a stroke of genius! (I do not believe the photographer took this photo in the United States however. (Where does one find oil lanterns hanging outside?)

like he is also in some kind of blue fog.

I like the foreshortening, perspective, colors and implied movement. The locomotive seems to be moving into the power side (right side) of the composition. Green and black are exciting colors for a locomotive; colors that I do not recall ever seeing. However, one, small thing troubles me about this photo. There is no dirt or grease anywhere. Does such a thing as a clean locomotive exist? Aesthetics=6, Originality=4
