Quick question:
Has this site become slower lately, or is it my computer, or connection, or both?
It takes 30 seconds, at times, to view a photo.
Is this happening to anyone else?
Thanks in advance,
Ron
PS time of day doesn't seem to matter.

Gentlemen,
Photography is in an evolutionary state, as are most art forms. I suppose natural selection
will decide what gets bought and hung on a wall or what is ridiculed as garrish and
dismissed as a cheap trick. My goal as a photographer is have someone view my work and
like it enough to own it. I might as well say it ... what sells matters. It matters alot. If
something looks like a cartoon, but pays the rent, hooray for me. Look at photos before
grad nd filters, and how much ps processing is going on now. The most unreal photos get
the highest rating on this site, and the ones that look like what our eyes see... well they
get passed over as boring.
What looks like Velvia for that matter. One other point, I don't think
Moonrise Over Hernandez looked quite like the finished print when Adams came upon the
scene. Adams himself said to pre visualize what the final print will look like and
manipulate it to make it happen. Nothing is as it appears.

Thank you both for the info... much appreciated, Ron

Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the difference between Cokin graduated neutral density filters
and the more expensive Singh Ray. I understand you get what you pay for, but is the price difference [ 5
times] in this case really worth it? Singh Ray is glass and less likely to be scratched the way Cokin filters
are, but is there a difference in image quality?

HDR versus split neutral density filter
in The Digital Darkroom: Process, Technique & Printing

<p>I am thinking of purchasing Nikon 14-24 2.8 zoom, but am hesitant due to no filter ability.<br>
I use split neutral density filters in landscapes frequently, so I was wondering if the sophistication of HDR software will begin to replace the use of the SND filter. Has anyone used this lens and found the inability of filter use a major drawback?</p>
