  1. I've reassembled my L3 lens (with much glee) only to find that the rest of camera no longer powers up (could be ribbon contacts, could be lack of battery door traversed with copper wire). So now I have much dismay.

I'll send my assembled lens to whoever can use it - you pay postage USPS.

Unless you've got an Nikon F mount lens that you want to give me that you're not using! ;)

Oh, and no guarantee on the lens or my assembly.<div>00NKoF-39823884.JPG.f93ff28381280bbf3907fe8d47c0867d.JPG</div>

  2. Hi,

I've heard of mounting Nikon SLR lenses on C mount video cameras, but what about

the reverse (C mount lenses on an F mount body)? Would there be a problem with

    the flange-to-sensor distance?

I have been playing with mounting heligons on my D80, they don't focus at

infinity, but that's fine with me. I just wondered about video lenses.

    Thanks for your expertise!

  3. Thank you all for the responses.

Watts, I'm checking on your links as I write.

What started me on all this foolishness was that I had picked up a XR Heligon, and another surplus lens off of Ebay, after being inspired by Bjørn's site. I tried to get in touch with Bjørn, but he hasn't gotten back with me. So I'm here for guidance, and I'm finding it! I've been holding the lenses in front of the body, set in manual mode, and adjusting exposure accordingly - which is a pain. I've also tried a projector lens, great fun!

Thanks again, and anymore advice is welcome.

  4. At least another year, alas - but now I've picked up an 68 mm XR Heligon also (cheap). I too, am wanting to cobble something together for my D80, probably with some extension tubes, glue and foolhardiness. Anybody got any other ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

  5. Hello,

I've got a D80. Now that I've spent most all my money on that and two lenses,

I want more (gear head). I've been reading about people "AIing" lenses and

such, and I now realize that the D80 isn't the best choice for this (didn't have

enough for a D200). Are there some like-minded folks in the DIY community who'd

like to give me some ideas? I've found bits and pieces of information in

various places, but am not bold enough to chance destroying my nice new camera-

and I've no need to reinvent the wheel. Definitive instructions and discussion

    are welcome.

Been checking into surplus TV lenses and projector lenses lately.

Anybody want to give me some help?

    Thanks!

  6. Did you get the electronic shutter with the lens? I picked up a oscilloscope camera (Tek c-50 I think) and don't know the supply voltage (alas, no manual). I've googled for a free manual - no luck. Would love to talk to someone who has hacked on these already for inspiration.
