the small black line on the left and bottom is quite distracting.
i think that you can crop it a bit.

thanks,
the color is a bit odd because it's daylight film
and it was used for indoor lighting.
that's why the color is shifted, i think.
-
perhaps, you should try to adjust the gamma down a little bit
and/or move the curve down a little
i guess that the flower is about .7 to 1 stop overexposed.
also, cropping the right side close to the dominantflower might help the photo some. :)

It's quite grainy. Did you do it on purpose?
Kodak Royal Gold should be smoother than this, right?
-
Yep, it looks better than the silly newspaper version. Good job on composition Russ.

the stream color is a bit saturated.
is it because the film or long exposure?
-
IMHO, it could be better if you exposed your film a bit more and printed a bit longer to pull back the
details of highlight area.
-
did you use cross-processing for this?
-
Nice photo. Could you give more how it was done?
What lighting technique did you use?
Thanks.--Tuan

This was when they were testing different light settings during a rehearsal. I was lucky enough to get this photo with my E100SW. The real performance a few days later was quite different (the effect was less contrast like this).

Nice color!
The composition is quite inflexible though, IMHO.
A view from an angle to the boat perhaps better.

this is a really good example of how nikkor 80-200
IF AF-S lens should be used! :)
keep up the good work!

i think that the white stripe somehow distracts the overall effect.

you might want to use a high contrast filter for printing
#4 or #5 perhaps?
it works sometimes
close enlarging lens to the minimum aperture -1, -2 stop?
clean the lens?
try some these above
good luck!

ps: i did rate your photos (after reading the bio :-) )

the brightness might be a bit less, perhaps?

This is a great shot. You are probably the best
photojournalist right now. :-)
Thanks for sharing your work.

Nice photo. The tone is quite odd though. Is
that because the film was out of date? I had
some similar effects like this when I tried Kodak
EktaPress 800 and Kodak 1600 (out of date).

Even I'm from VTech, I gotta admit that this is
a wonderful photo. :-)
I wonder what the photo would look like if you
stopped down like f16 or f22

I prefer this one much over the other one in this folder. FYI, it is not unusual in seashore areas
that women smoke. The cigarette that they smoke
is quite strong too. It is hand-rolled. :-p
