  1. Thanks Guys,

I actually underexposed this imaged by a third of a stop, it was quite bright that day and I didnt want to blow out the whites on the bike. I could tweak it a bit, but I'm trying not to do any photoshop work to my sports images so that I can hone my skills out of the camera. Not that I have anything against P/Shop :-)

Good Capture Sam, these guys are very hard to get. And they are indeed a sight to see and huge!!

I was shooting one at a sanctuary one day as it was flying towards me and it near knocked me out with its wing.

I like this one L. Nice eerie feel to it. The birds look like something out of a horror movie, ready to come in to clean up the leftovers.

Have you got any of this scene in horizontal format, I would like to compare.

This photo was done quite a few years ago now when I was in

my "creative" era. I remember playing around with different

lighting techniques some worked, some didn't. I liked this one

myself, she was a beautiful girl with stunning green eyes.

(Obviously I painted the eyes as it was shot in B&W.)

    What do you think?

For future viewers of this image, the image I attached in a previous comment is NOT a sepia toned image, duotone yes, but not sepia.

Sepia is but one type of duotone, you can have many other colour combinations.

I have attached a sepia toned image for you to see the difference.

I will also add, I did not upload the alternative image as a better version, just an alternative, I personally like the B&W better as well.

August, I have to disagree with you on one point, sepia toning (darkroom printing, not photoshop) is relative to the photographer (or printer), yes you can sepia tone where you barely notice the difference, but I have also seen sepia toning quite strong, it depends on the subject matter and how much you bleach the orignal B&W print.

    Donn,

Can you help me with some titles for my shots? You definately have the gift of titling the images. Very cute shot, I'm debating whether or not you should crop in on just the 2 or leave the "witness" in. Might be worth trying both ways.
