  1. When I bought the big bottle of the syrup I stored it in the fridge (not the freezer). Some time later I split it into several smaller bottles full to the brim, but on warming up one to room temp, the HC-110 expanded and fra, ctured the glass. What a mess.
  2. Is this the city a Roman legion is said to have been taken?
  3. Alan, I agree with your comment in that thread about streaking. I had so bad a result I never went back to phenidone. SPUR reommend plenty of agitation for 90 or 120 seconds at commencement to reduce 'schleren'? or streaking.
  4. my developer formula ( ULC )for kodak imagelink microfilm The oddball chem is used only as a wetting agent, so he says. PhotoFlo? Have a look at his albums before you write this one off. I gave away my Speed Graphic after it broke the neck strap (and my neck).
  5. Interesting. Thanks for posting.
  6. Thanks for the tip, Bill. I bought some but struggled with it even at ISO 50. Have used caffenol but on other films. Mostly Polypan-F.
  7. Joe. Why not go for an ascorbate phenidone developer and ditch the sulfite? Not nearly as much fun of course but for serious people much more predictable.
  8. What do you use to raise the pH in pools? In this country (Australia) it is sodium carbonate. Washing soda.
  9. If there is still some around get a few rolls of PolyPan F. It has no antihalation backing. Particularly unsuited to new cameras with highly polished film presure plates. I dedicated a FED2 to this film by putting roll film paper over the plate and it works fine.
  10. Yes, I also only found out recently. An irreplaceable loss to the photo community.
  11. I use what I call the film speed by 20 rule. Since there is only a fixed f-stop (3.5) and the ratio of 3.5 to 16 is 21 but I think x20 is easier and closer than my guestimates anyway. Fast films means using the filters. Probably suits most users bec. fine grain film is slow. On this sunny day we love to quote ISO 50 means 1000th sec and slower for for light cloud and so on down.
  12. It is an interesting thread. There is alot of off theme comments and I was the guilty one that side tracked it to Imagelink. ;) I finally got the chemicals but forgot about doing anything with them in the end.
  13. It struck me when I looked at FX-37 (which a lot of people love) that it is DK-50 with one tenth the weight of metol substituted by phenidone. I use the FX-37 times and dilute further with longer times, of course. One shot.
