Hey,
I have a Canon Digital Elph S410 with a 1 gig Kingston card. The camera works fine except I can not figure out
the movie mode. I rotate the dial to movie mode and it still shoots pictures. If I push the shutter button, it
takes one still picture. It displays the counter showing the number of pictures left, not a timer. I am hoping
someone can offer a suggestion to make the movie mode work.
Thanks,

Try connecting the flash directly to the camera. It will still happen. The A2 with a flash in P mode is some what useless. I shot in A or S and mostly M. If it is really bright and I am using fill flash, I will use S and set my shutter to 1/200. I will sometimes use A. However, if it is really dark and the flash is my main light source, I use M. The F-stop and shutter are set manual; usually F8 and 1/15-1/60. I leave the flash in automatic. The flash automaticly calculates the needed light and I take my pictures. I may adjust my F-stop depending on how far away my subject is and my shutter on how much light (other then the flash) I want to let in.
The short answers is use manual, it is safe.

I taped a cheat sheet onto the strap of my A2. Lots of tape and it even holds up in a little rain.

Thanks for all the help.
Well an update for you guys:
Yes, 30,000 pixels is the upper limit (my exact file size). I have it in two large pieces (one 25,000 and 10,000 pixels, with text between. I will make sure it is ready and then downsample to one smaller piece. Hopefully I will talk to a printing service monday to see what they want for file size.

I am sticking together a bunch of photos and photoshop 7 will not let
the image expand the width beyond 60 inches. It is 500 DPI and the
computer is a Mac with OS X and 1.5gigs of ram. I am wondering if
there is a max size within photoshop. I did not think there was a max
size. Could ram or something else be limiting the size?
Any ideas on a work around? I could lower the resolution to get
around the problem, but would prefer to use all the resolution. Or
increase the resolution and decrease the size.
Thanks

I would tell you to get the 28-105 now. It is a fun, sharp, easy lens, with USM which is a real treat.
Then you can keep your eye out for a 50 f1.8 MK I. This will set you back about $80-$100 so it is very cheap. It will take a little while to find one. Be patient, it is much nicer then the new version.
Or, do you need a lot sharpness? do you want a small lens? do you want to be able to shot in the darkness? then go for a 50mm right now.
Do you want a wider angle and the convient zoom? Then a 28-105.

Hi,

I am looking for a cheaper flash for my EOS A2. Sigma 430 or Sunpack 4000 or 433 or 440. Maybe a Canon 430 or 420 (but the seem to run $200). I am hoping to not spend too much (hopefully <$100, but maybe more). I want enough power to be able to add a diffuser, tilt and swivel and use the three zones for for the A-TTL. Any comments on third party flash functioning with the A2 would be apprecated.

Thanks
