I just had the same problem after a client photo shoot, and thought I had lost 96 images. I could still see the images

on the LCD of my Nikon D70, but when I tried to access the camera using the USB cable, got a message saying the

card needed to be formatted. I got the same result when I tried to put the card in my card reader. The SanDisk-

recommended software did not work for me, but the $30 software at <a href="http://www.compact-flash-data-

recovery.com/"> http://www.compact-flash-data-recovery.com/</a> did. I got everything back but two photos.

Smugmug looks like a great choice... however, their Pro level pricing is now $149/yr.

Okay, so I have what may be a stupid question. Illka says you need the SC cord to attach the SB800 to the camera. But can't the flash be fired off-camera by the built-in flash? If the built-in flash is dialed way down, so it's effect on the scene is minimal, and the SB800 is set off camera on a stand, wouldn't that work just as well as having it on a bracket & attached with a cord? Is there a benefit to having the cord?

Does anyone use an album service that allows you to design the album

pages & then prints them for you magazine style? I'd like to avoid

using mattes. There are album services that do the magazine style

printing & the design. But what if you want to design the page

yourself, and just have them do the printing?

Hello Steve. It's too bad no one responded to your question. I'm looking for the same sort of information, and would like to ask about your experience with Jorgensen albums, specifically the magazine style "E Albums."

 

It sounds like you design a page using their software, and then have the pages printed on photo paper by a local lab. Then you send them to Jorgensen for binding. Their description is a little confusing to me though. Unless you specify that you want them to flush mount the images you sent, basically they are sending you back your images and a book of mounted pages that you can adhere them to? Theoretically, you could be sending them prints that you design with any software, not just theirs.

How do you like their albums and their software? I'd like to find a service that does both the printing and binding from the file I send them.
