  1. <p>Hi Every one</p>

<p>I am trying to reduce my post processing work flow, one of my jobs is a dvd slide show of stills set to music. However the software i currently use only supports .jpg. Does any one out there know of a package that will allow me to input .raw format to make a slide show to. Also somthing that will allow me to rotate images in the slide set up? I currently have to use Light Room to convert to jpg which equals more time, duplicate images and time.</p>

    <p>many thanks</p>

  2. Thanks for all of the responses it has been very helpful.

I am shooting in aperture mode but to compound it i will bee using the lens at around 100mm. i have the apeture wide open and always shoot in raw. I will definitely be checking out noise ninja. I mentioned to the vicar i would just use flash for the bride walking up the isle with the father but he was adamant NO FLASH AT ALL stating that if i used it then the congregation would be using it. So i think it will be some noise ninja and black and white

    Thanks every on

  3. I Have a wedding to shoot i went to the rehearsal and the vicar is adamant NO

flash at all. During the rehearsal i was finding i was having to use 2500 ISO

giving me 4.8 @ 1/8 sec. The camera is a Nikon D300 with a Nikon 18-200 VR zoom

lens. Has any one had to use these high settings before? is so what type of post

procesing did you use to remove the grain ?

    Many Thanks

    D80

I need a wireless link to the computer to transmit data and not for flash control. i have been shooting in tetherd mode via usb but the wire limits my movement

    Thanks

    D80

I have seen some use of the D2x recently and really like the wireless facility

on it i could make good use of this for event photography. Does any one know of

a wireless adapter to fit on to the D80? I know there is an adapter for the D200

but i have only just brought the D80

    Many Thanks

  4. I currently have a d80 which has built in commander mode for other flash guns to

be used as a slave. My flash unit is a sigma EF-500 DG super NA-ittl. This has a

built in slave master function with the same channel selects. Has any one used

the d80 in command mode to operate the flash unit / are they compatible or am i

just struggling with the manuals ?

    Many Thanks

  5. Hi

I had to shoot a funeral once and it is very difficult and emotionaly hard. But my final presentation was done by a DVD photo show with gentle transitions and meaningful music chosen by the clients brother. I included photographs from his past and some of his favorite things. The final product was very pleasing. leaving with a feeling of calm tranquility and a celebration of his life. I tried to finish the show of with a celebration of his life rather than the funeral.

    Hope this helps

  6. Yes i agree about making money while people make merry, i always ask the client if they would like this service. But i am thinking of event photography such as horse shows, fairs etc. Again it would be a case of having more staff to take care of the print side. But for the likes of university balls i think a wireless set up could be a good earner.

  7. I have been reading reasently about the power/ income of providing prints on the

night. Does any on here do this it looks to be very profitable. I sell my prints

online the following day but te customers have lost the passion after the event.

I have two printers in mind, both Mitsubushi sub dye printers.

    CP9550 cost ?1379

    6x9 prints 45p

    5x7 prints 38p

    4x6 prints 12p

    cp3020DAE cost ?725

    12x8 prints 1.68

    10x8 prints 1.38

The above costs are for the prices of the consumables.

My concerns are do you think i am missing out on more customers by not providing

the larger 10x8 and 12x8 photographs?

The advantage of the more expensive CP950 is the 6x9 prints come on a roll of

126 prints against the 50 print roll of the cheaper CP3020DAE, meaning les

    printer changeing on the night.

I would be very interested to hear from people about there experience / advice

    Many Thanks

  8. I Just lost some data from a 2gig card in my D80, I think the problem was one of possible physical dammage due to taking out the cards an putting them into a card reader. The card was taken back to a shop where they run a recovery program to get most of the immages back. Time permiting now i connect the usb cable to the camera and download that way this eliminates the possible dammage from removal ect.

  9. I have recently purchased a D80 ( and loveing it) I have just taken a series of

photographs in raw format (.NEF) I can not seem to open them at all in adobe

photoshop ? the raw files from my D70 & D70s both open ok ? Any one else having

this problem ? Beware if you shoot any work in .NEF you may not be able to open

It. I did not find any drives on the Adobe site ?

    Thanks

  10. Hi Dan I am in a very similar position myself, although i have average we skills and been able to put up a web site myself the finished product looks amature. I am having another attempt at building another wb site. You can download templates specifically for photographers from places like templatemonster and only cost aroun $60. A good program i use for uploading pics to the web is breezebrowser pro and just tah paypak buttons to it ( some templates have paypal already. Ultimately you will need to pay a company to design a web site for you but prices vary widly. Remember this is your shop window. hope this helps
