Wonderful photo. I envy your being able to photograph in this location. One suggestion - Use of a 2-stop graduated neutral density filter would help even out the exposure to allow you to keep some detail in the clouds.

I couldn't tell if you were trying for the slight blurring of the image or not. I like the light on the spectators.

I really like this shot. Did you use a graduated neutral density filter to even out the background?

In the small town of Ashland, MS, many of the old homes are being
restored. I felt this one was just "waiting" for its turn.
Critiques invited. Is the "architecture" category the best one for
this shot? Thank you.

I would be proud to have this in my portflio.

re: the crop comments - I like your original composition as it adds to the feeling of the distances involved in the scene. The light is great and you've captured the entire setting very well. I'll use your shots as inspiration as I plan a trip to the Big Bend sometime soon.

An arresting presentation of a common element.

I am a frequent visitor to this guy's territory (my patio) but he
still doesn't trust me. Your comments and critiques are welcomed.
An explanation of low ratings (3 & lower) would be especially
appreciated.

A very striking and arresting image. The only minor distraction (for me) is the visibility of those few strands of har at the forehead.
Can you share the technique you used?
