  1. Have to agree with Charles to a point. Without the title I would have guessed this image dealt with Mother Earth or something of that nature. She is in a fetal position or possibly shaped as a seed or pod? Growing something in fairly clear water? And why is she looking directly at the camera as opposed to having here eyes closed with a different expression? Was that intended to mean something? Technically, you executed what you wanted, but for me the photo raises more questions about your message than are answered...at any rate, take my comments with a grain of salt b/c I am not a big fan of this type of photo. I would prefer to see her standing/sitting next to real trees that are barren; The juxtaposition of human and non-human infertility. Probably a cliched approach which is why I don't do these type of photos. I give you credit for pushing the threshold and the courage to post the image for critique.

I like the textures and composition. Well modeled with the light position. I would be inclined to desaturate the red a little so it's a little more subtle.

Good lighting and pose. Good use of hands to add interest. Only thing is the eyes are centered and it feels a bit heavy on the right, if that makes any sense.

Wondering if you have a shot of this pose with the eyes more to the left, where her arms are shown more?

    H. T.: I see a little green in the background above the neck. Intended? I like the shutter used. Provides a little action in the wings. Beautiful animal. Good shot.
  2. Alban: Great eye in shooting this pic. The colors and details are complex. Not many photos make me stop to take it all in. This pic does. It raises questions. Where, why...it is stimulating. Good balance between the child and the street as the subject. Thanks.
  3. Eddie: I can see why you shot the monastery. Red, Blue, Green. Technically, the pic has plenty of detail and the exposure is very good. Overall, good picture. Just one humble suggestion...crop out a little more sky to fill the frame a little more with the subject. Might work, might not.

I agree with the others. The grass and rock are needed to anchor the picture and to provide DOF. The foreground is now related to the distant grass in the water. The foreground objects provide a point of reference, and a beginning point for the eye. I can see the detail in the rock and grass which makes the picture more interesting. Good job.

Tim: I think the composition is very good. Eyes at top right. No real distractions from the subject. Good tonal distribution. You met your goal in that you made the bride look good in a natural way. Good job.
