I bought a Bower 2x tele converter from Panwebi on E-bay. after playing around with it for a bit, I am fairly satisfied with it. I have used the Opteka 2x converter with a 500mm lens, and hated it. The Bower converter seems to be a good bit higher quality, plus it allows me to use the auto-focus feature on my Rebel XT. for $70, inc. shipping it's not a bad deal.
