Wow...I wish my first indoor session would have been half as good! In fact, I wish some of my sessions were as good as that now! Great job.

I thought you had some very nice shots, although I would have preferred a little more variety - in particular with the placement of her hands. Maybe had a few where her hands were not placed directly on the belly. Just my two cents! Good job!

Hello, I am a full-time middle school teacher and also shoot weddings and
portraits (outdoor) on the side. Because I do not have a studio or do many
indoor portrait shoots, I really don't have any studio equipment.
My problem - my principal wants my Spanish Club to shoot some "Buddy Photos"
on Thursday and Friday for a club fundraiser. We have a huge Christmas tree in
the cafeteria with a freshly painted cream wall in the background. But what
else should I use? For seating, I planned on using the teacher's chairs, which
adjust for heights. That way I could stagger the seating, as we may have
groups of four. I want to cover them with something, so I was thinking of
getting some velvety red or gold fabrics to help richen the scene. What do you
think? Any other suggestions on backdrops or seating?
There is also another area (minus the Christmas tree) which has a huge window
to the right of the area. As I have no studio lighting, I thought this might
be a better placement?
Any help you could give me would be appreciated! Thanks!

I personally like the blue one. I think it offers a unique perspective to engagement (or couple) photos. I also like the angle of the photo, in general.

Hello. Can any of you offer any posing suggetions for an engagement shoot in
which the bride-to-be is in a wheelchair? The shoot will be indoors, at a
pretty venue with a fireplace, cozy setting in the background. The couple
could only schedule for late afternoon, when is is already dark, so we are
pretty limited to only using the indoor facility. The bride will not be
getting out of the chair for any of the pictures.
There are the obvious poses, but I don't want everything to look the same. Any
help you can offer would be appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I myself hate having to click on the link page to get to the main site. This is not a "from-scratch" website. The company has given me the templates to customize. And maybe I can figure a way around the link page, but I'm not sure. As for the image files, I do intend to go through and rename all of them. I am also trying to figure out how to get rid of the dark text backgrounds so the words are more legible.
Thanks again!

Hello everyone!
I changed my photography website...again. Please take a look if you have a
chance and let me know what you think of it. Comments, criticisms,
suggestions. I really don't know much about designing a website!
I do want to market myself more for portraits than for weddings in the future.
I still want to do some weddings, but I LOVE portraits, so that might be one
thing to consider as you are looking at it. Which photography does the site
best reflect? There are still some minor things I have to tweak (such as image
titles), but I don't want to do anymore work until I know I will keep the site
for sure.
Thanks for your help!

I am looking to buy a new lens for my Nikon D100 that will produce the best
results for group shots (as well as non-group shots) in low-lit churches and
other low-lighting venues for weddings. Any suggestions on what type of lens I
should look into?
Thank you in advance for you answers! You guys are so knowledgeable - this
website truly is an education!

Hello,
I am new to this site and have learned SO much in the week or so that I have
been on here. I have been shooting weddings and portraits, on-the-side of my
full-time job for several years now. I am now getting more serious about my
business and I have some questions about naming a photography business. Of
course, I realize that catchy titles/names have long been taken. My question:
is it okay for me to name my business the same name that another photography
in another state already has or would this be copyright infringement? I know
this might be a silly question, but while doing internet searches for
particular photography business names, I sometimes come up with 10 or 20
different websites/business with the same name.
Can someone please explain to me the correct procedure for legally naming a
business? I have been calling it by my own name, which I would like to change,
at this point.
Thanks for your help!

I prefer to use Vista Print. You have a large variety of options to play around with, prices seem reasonable to me and the orders ship very quickly. I am very happy with the business cards, notecards and postcards that I had printed up there...all using my own images of choice.
First newborn shoots
in Portraits & Fashion
Posted
Hello,
I did two newborn (well...a one-month-old and two-month-old) sessions this past
weekend. It was my first time to shoot such small little people and I have to
say it was fun, yet challenging.
I felt like I went into my shoots fairly armed with good information and tips -
thanks to you all here on the baby forum at photo.net! I have especially
admired Emily Koch's work. Of course, I realize I have a LONG way to go, but I
am just curious what comments, suggestions you experienced baby photographers
might have for me.
I shot with a Nikon D100, a 50 mm 1.4 Nikon lens, large windows of natural
light and an umbrella/flash set-up to the other side of the subject for fill.
I have placed a folder titled, "Newborns" in my portfolio.
Thanks for your help!
