I know this thread is outdated but this issue has been important for me lately as i was fed up with the muddy results i was getting in Camera Raw as compared to the jpgs converted by camera (i shoot jpg+raw). From my experience it is not the saturation issue but of the brilance of certain colors especially reds and greens. I couldnt get those even clouse to the jpg wersion used as reference, tried all sorts of things (tweakin calibration in cam raw, hue sat, channel mixer etx) - with crappy results,. Finnaly when i switched to Nikon Capture i got quite excited cos finaly i could get the colors right. The problem is that im uncomfortable with the nikon's interface and performance...well you can't have it all ...i guess
