    Great colours and pose.

You should consider cleaning the dust and aging marks.

    How old is this photo?

    What was the film used?

    Thanks for sharing,

    A.

  1. Great colours and use of the patterns in the background. I would have aimed for a lager portion in focus: The ball looks slightly blured and the table is at a very shallow angle.

Nevertheless this is a good photo!

    Hi Lauren,

    Thanks for the comment!

I had my FM3A with a 28mm with me (and used it as well) but I found that the lense in landscape would flatten the whole composition. I chose the 6x6 80mm to "box in" the specific elements that interested me.

  2. Hi John,

Comments of any kind are always welcome.

Just before taking this shot I was wondering around the top of Table Mountain. It was about noon and the light was pretty awfull for almost anything. When I saw this lonelly flower - 10 m away behind a do-not-cross-string - I immediatly saw the effect of the grass and the play of the DOF. I put on my 85mm f1.9 and had a go trying to use the banded dark and light tones at the back, using a large enough apperture so that the background and the immediate forground would stay blured. I also included a bit of deep blue from the sky but in post-process I decided that the photo was too long so i kept it out.

    Thanks for your input,

    A.

It was late afternoon in spring (i think June) 1991. I bought my first roll of slide film and went into the flower market to shoot the buzzing of the retail buyers around the huge assortment of all types of flowers.

    This one is my favourite.
