Surely when you select an image for critique you are sticking your head above the parapet - accept what you get and learn to duck faster. Critiques that properly critcise are invaluable perhaps more especially the negative ones as, if evaluated and accepted, they should lead to better work in the future. Over the last year I have spent a lot of time developing composite images and on reviewing my first efforts realise how much difference the PN critique input has made to my efforts - still got a long way to go but it's nice to see some positive effect. The critique forum has been a positive influence for me and long may it serve to advance our 'skills' and promote some virtual, and real, friendships.
