its just some nice clouds in the distance. But they are too far away for the motion blur to affect....the same with the little clump of trees underneath the clouds.

Thanks for looking as always. This is a beach on the south coast of

Australia. I waited for about 90 mins to take this photo, but it was

    worth the wait.

    Hi Chris....

Thanks for your input. I do appreciate that. Yeah, you are right....it doesn't quite fit does it. Ummh the only way would be to crop it right out, but one of the nice things about the photo is the detail in the distance right behind the tree. Maybe this is a little more obvious when looking at a high res version.

I'll give your suggestion ago and let you know the result!

  1. Great Shot! I really like the contrast between the blue sky, white clouds, and gray desert (or dessert, I can never remember, which is quite embarrassing because I am a teacher.) It does a good job of conveying both the beauty and harshness of the location.

On a side note, I have been a fan of yours for a while, your photos really do give a great insight into the places and people that you photograph. Thank you very much for sharing your work. It has been a great inspiration for me.

Hey I just have to say.... I didn't mean to rate this as a 4 - 4 , but i kind of just absent mindedly clicked 4 - 4. The photo is much better than that, I never really know how to rate originality for this kind of photo, so I won't. But asthetically it is really nice at least 5 or 6. Good depth of field and nice positioning of the subjects... Great Shot!

Thanks for for your advice Pierre. I'll try that out. It's interesting that you mention this actually. I was discussing this very issue with some friends just last night. Our discussion related to the menus and associated buttons on our cell phones, but the principle remains the same. That the western mind prefers things to flow from left to right, whilst the chinese mind prefers right to left. This is all of course simply due to our writing systems, which tend to flow in opposite directions, although chinese characters are inherently more flexible in this respect. In any case maybe I'll flip it, paste it together in PS and call it "East Meets West!"

Once again thank for comment and your attention.
