I'am keen on purchasing a Nikon 17-35 mm lens for use with my D 700 full format camera. Before I buy I'am keen to hear of experiences (positive and negative) from my colleagues in the Nikon forum of using this lens on a D 700. My other lenses include the legendary Nikon 50mm/1.4 and Nikon 70-200mm. Thank you.

Keen to get insights from experienced professionals on what would be a good walkabout lens on a D700 ?

What would be the best way to detect if there is any dust on the camera sensor ? I have a D700. Any tips from the forum members is appreciated.

I understand that using a Nikon DX Lens on thje D700 crops the image (almost to 50% i.e. to about 5 milllion pixels from the 12 million pixels).
Would Sigma 30 mm 1:1.4 D DC HSM on a D 700 also crop the image? Appreciate your advice.

Was keen to understand from pro-members in the forum on the impact (i.e pixel quality, size etc),of using the
following Nikon lenses on a full format camera such as D 700: (i) my newer Nikon lenses marked DX (ii) my favorite
but older Nikon lenses marked with a D such as 50 mm 1: 1.4 D, 85mm 1:1.4 D and 50 mm 1:1.8 D. Thank you.

Zoom lenses
in Nikon
I own a D300 and recently watched a cricket game at the Melbourne Cricket
Ground (awesome settings ! and one of the best cricket grounds in the world!).
With a 18-200 mm Nikon VR lens, I was able to get some good shots but felt the
need to get a longer zoom lense to capture some close up action at the centre
of the ground from way back in the stands.
Would be grateful for some advice on the best long Nikon or Sigma lens around
(beyond 200mm) which could work well with D300.
Thank you.

Very good messages. How did you get your name embossed on your photographs ?
-
Antony, Bruce...your images are simply spectacular. What lenses did each of you use on the D300 ?
-
Thanks a lot, gentlemen - that answers my query.

When using Aperture Priority on the D300 and 85mm/F1.4 and 18-200 mm lenses,
what should be the settings on the lenses. Would be grateful for valuable
guidance from the forum pros. Thank you.

I am keen to get a standard message "Name/Year" embossed on all my photos on my
D300. Would my experienced forum friends guide me on the steps ?

Apologies for my ignorance!. When members have said metering on my D2H is dead
what exactly does that mean ? How do we detect this ? Thank you.

Provided exposures are determined correctly what would be the general guide or
thumb rule for use of tripods to get sharp pictures in the composition. Any
advice is appreciated.

AC Adaptor
in Nikon
Does anyone use the EH-6 AC Adaptor for the D2H ? Does this really prove
useful ? Look forward for feedback.

Thank you friends for your valuable advice.

While I guess it is mainly through practice that one learns sbout setting
shutter speeds (using S priority on D2H), where I can find guidance on setting
appropriate shutter speeds for (i) moving objects (say) kids moving, a train
passing or a dance programme etc and (ii) still objects (say) portraits,
building interiors etc . How does the lighting (interiors and exteriors)impact
the shutter speed? Any help is appreciated.

Thank you John. The Group should be max 5-8 persons standing.

What would be the best available Nikon lens in the market(for use on a D2H DSLR
without Flash) and suitable for low light interior photography for portrait and
group photographs. Any advice from experienced friends in the forum would be
appreciated.
