Nice, serene scene. If it was mine, I'd add more contrast and maybe a little Gaussian Blur Overlay. I can "smell" the winter..

This is a stitch of 3 photos and cropped from the sides, no other
alterations were done. What do you think?

Any feedback would be helpful, Thanks, Attila.

No, that's an effect of the afternoon golden light and the blue yellow polarizer used...

Very good eye!

Nice framing, good comp.

> p.s. How'd you get that angle. Did you dig a hole?
Best thing is to put the lens on a ground-pod instead of a tripod and just lie on the ground.

> Did you get wet?
Ha ha!! Mud and goose-s..t all over 8-)

> must have been some waiting to get this...
Yes, bird photography is about lots of missed moments...

> ...a lot of your shots are done with the 2XTC and the 600mm. Is this a typo?
No it's no typo, shorebirds are very small and even if I can crawl close to them at certain time I need a focal lenght as long as possible for frame filling pictures. I frequently use the 2x and the 1.4x with the 600mm.

Well, there is Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area check out this web site:
http://gorp.com/gorp/resource/us_nra/pa_water.htm
the Appalachian trail goes through it, and there is the Bushkill Falls area, and lots more...
This specific picture was taken on the Pennsylvania side close to the Delaware river bank.

No flash was used. I think that would've taken away from the blur effect.

To John R: the 1200mm is a 600mm lens with a 2x extender..
To John R and J Herman: I was pretty close to the bird (20 to 30 feet I gather). The picture shown is full frame.

I'd try to remove the blue/cyan colour completely from the image, as for composition, I'm not sure how to improve it, I think there is too much dark in it, I would've stepped back a bit if that would've been possible.
