i haven't been able to find my shots although rated around 5/5 on average for about 2 weeks on the top photos. i search back for a week, even a month, and nothing! i don't understand. some have over 15 ratings which should make the months top photos easy...

wow peter! thats nice. 100% crops that really make it hard to decide. on one hand, when i was shooting ducks yesterday, i used the zoom a good bit. but the detail is decent but not greet like the 300mm. i'm just afraid i'll miss the zoom too much. the canon zoom will be a slight improvement over the sigma 80-400 i have now.

thanks guys. it is very sharp. still like the versitility of the 100-400mm, but thats what i needed to see. ausome detail from the 300 f/4.

thanks roger. i think your right. I.S. is a must. i figured thats what someone would say. i have one on hold with my supplier.

stop. dont do it! 50-500 is much better. trust me, i did alot of research on these very lenses! 170-500mm is not worth it. hold out for a 50-500.

i'm strugglin with the seach for the perfect lens for my 30d. i'm thinking
canon 100-400 i.s. but think maybe 300mm 4.0 i.s. is the way. also like the
400mm 5.6 prime, but no i.s!!! please help. i shoot alot of flying bird shots,
and general wildlife. i just got a 80-400mm sigma o.s., but focus is too slow.
