for me knowing the defect of my photo is more important. so i can avoid it in the future. how about that person i mention above best regards DSC.

these what happen to me somebody rated my photo 3/3 direct he doesn't leave any comment. so what i did i visit his page i notice he doesn't have any photo portfolio. and he rate 6000 plus 3/3 combine a & o. then in of the thread this morning i saw his name. and i ask him if ever he will share his photo portfolio with other members for learning puposes. another question i ask will he ever participate in the photo critique forum. i didnt get any answer they deleted the thread. i ask same question a long time ago to Don Farra used to be the holder of the most number of 3/3 rates. he didnt answer but my question is still there. i don't really mind getting 1/1, 2/2, 3/3. what i don't like is members open rate other members and they don't even have one photo in their page. and they don't even participate in the photo critique forum and doesn't want to communicate too if you eail the. john i want your opinion. regards DSC.

I�m with you credential is important. If the raters have photo portfolio. The photo it self will speak a thousand words. But if there is none. May be his just a 3 year old kid playing in the net. Regards DSC.

to all the comrade of mr. .[.Z stick with the real issue. almost every other day PN photographer. are complaining about the 3/3 guys. now i show you that there are such. please comrade of mr. .[.Z don't apply any smoke screen, or deodorant to cover the stinking culprit.

find me another member that unload that many number of 3 rates. please don't include Don Farra. members doing these they have same characteritic they don't participate in critique photo forum no submission of picture. nothing to lost all to gain. they only find pleasure dumping 3/3 without comments. members with no photos, no credentials, doesn't want to communicate should not be allowed to participate in the critique forum. i email him several times. i'll try all the means to get feed back resolving it the civilized way he didnt reply. i don't mine his 3/3 as long he write few words regards to the defect of my photos. whether good or bad feedback is ok i'm a paying member, he is not i have no option but to ambush the forum of mr. andrei. in my book he is a ligit 3/3 guy. regards DSC.

better check the content of your ratings and guard. be vigilant mine was attack by the infamous mr. .[.Z. he holds the records for rating the most number of 3's. beating mr. i agreed with mr. Tim holte. Stefan Rohner is a terrific portrait photographer. another photographer i know in same class as mr. Rohner is mr. Jock Sturges. unfortunately his no longer here. but his books is well published. best regards DSC.

If it is a set up shot. Where I have all the time in the world. Iﾒll go for looks and appearance. But for street and documentary portraits. Itﾒs not a factor. i'm only after the facial expression and the back ground story. In fact I find the street more challenging. Your always under time pressure, you canﾒt control the lights and the surrounding, the subject is hostile and evasive. Your opportunity to capture the right moment is very narrow. But in the end itﾒs very rewarding to the photographer. A good portrait need not be perfect. Looking back to the history of great portraits. The subject is not from Ford Model Agency but open real people. Just my opinion. Best regards DSC.

madam Biliana i understand your sentiments. models, pretty face, good studio lighting, photographic technics is not enough the standard in PN change. the critiques are looking for added value in the photos. common or ordinary portrait won't do you can't even get the votes of your friends. you have to try something different to be distinctive. for me to get decent rating. i have shot a photo 80 times one portrait of a kid playing a board game. just to capture the face, moving arm and a floating dice. go to dark streets in quiapo manila to shot a portrait of a live witch aka candle worshiper my god, bird merchant, street cook using technology of the old world. anyway if you have time visit my my street portrait and portrait files. its not that many but so far it is acceptable to both anonymous raters and direct raters. just my opinion and experienced. i'm not sure whether my style will work for you. best regards DSC.

what im saying instead of spreading 3/3, 4/4, 5,5, i just select 6/6 and the 7/7 deserving photos. PN is a democratic photo community. no body controls it. each member is in title to vote. from 3 to 7. their is no general rule that i should vote or rate in all the different numbers. if we are face to face. you will see that i'm not upset. best regards DSC.

the last time we are in the same forum with our friend Mohammad Reza Shadpay. too bad he is no longer here. i dont put rate 3/3 thats correct. but you can ask members like mr. D are or even Wade rose. if the photo is no good. i my self discourage them for posting. i spend a lot of time telling the about the defect of the photo. rather than just clicking 3/3. different people in different nation have different ways. i'm not only a good listener i'm also a good follower. well taken ill take note on that. best regards DSC.

I ask question to Mr. Tim Holt it is unfortunate Mr. Holt fail to reply immediately. When Mr. Hatley reply I don�t like his tone. Mr. Tai ta I�m one of the rater of 7/7 to Mr. Wade Rose. Another is Mr. Julio Segura Carmon. Which hold my highest respect. Mr. Carmona never runs out of energy motivating other co-photographers. For what his doing to us never he demand any favor in return. He Never did any wrong to any body. All are voluntarily. I�m a very peaceful person you try browsing all my comments never I offend any body. If I don�t like their photo better not touch it no ratings no comment. I rather email them regarding the defect of their work. I don�t discuss it on public. But what Mr. Hatley did is something I cannot let pass. If he thinks by insulting me, Mr. Carmona and the the other raters of Mr. Wade. Will make him popularity. No way. I will not take that sitting down. The world is watching us. What Mr. Hatley is saying is different from yours. What he is selling to the future photographers of PN. Is just make friends don't make good photos your rating will go up. If that his style I donﾒt find it effective. Because his rating is still below 5 level. What I only know. Is how to make quality photos and appreciate excellent pictures from other photographers like you. In that case we have no disagreement we are in the same boat. lets take my case and yours. i join PN last may 17, 2006. my no. of visitors is 1338 in my bio-data. while yours is 376 since jan 05, 2006. how about our average photo ratings in terms of Aesthetics and originality. is this about friends and or is this about quality of pictures inside the portfolio?

Holt and you is been here since 2003. you mean you didn't establish a circle of friends. what a pity, is that the reason why the last 5 photos of mr. holt subitted for critique review no body visit him. come on that particular photo of mr. Wade rose is under digital alteration. even a child can tell its highly manipulated cause that the rules in that particular category. open your eyes all photos in digital alteration is highly manipulated. the case here is still a good photo is a good photo, a bad photo remains a bad photo. be a sport.

Wade rose. i visit your latest photos you submit for critique review. i only found one direct comment he gave you 3/3. while mr. rose since last week. he submitted photos that are popular and artistic. from different categories like birds, abstract and digital alteration. and he is getting all the attention. in fact most of his 7/7 are direct vote from known Photographers of this community. please enlight me mr.
