Thanks JDMvW... I ended up biting the bullet and taking my cameras into a Canon service centre to get the shutter counts.

Can anyone tell me how I can find out what the shutter count is (shutter actuations) on my 5D mark II cameras? I rang Canon service and was told I would need to post my cameras to them! I thought, are you kidding me!? There must be an easier way!

<p>When shooting with flash using my 580EXII on a 5D MKII, I normally have it set to ETTL and have always had good results. However recently I've encountered a problem whereby the flash will suddenly revert to TTL for no identifiable reason resulting in dramatic overexposure. When this happens I try fiddling with the mode button on the flash, turning off the flash and/or camera and turning on again, or even removing the flash and re-seating it on the camera. Sometimes one of these actions will result in ETTL resuming and sometimes not. Very frustrating when in the middle of a wedding or event shoot! Has anyone had a similar problem? The flash unit isn't very old though is probably out of warranty.</p>

when i try to open RAW files taken on my EOS 20D in Photoshop CS 8.0 i get a window

with a message saying it's not the right type of document (they're .CR2 files). what am i
