better late than never...
a large bare (completely bare) room, gleaming wood floor ( and i mean gleaming), sunlight streaming from large window (preferably through open window that shows just an expanse of sky with white, really white clouds). one person standing in path of the sunlight, face raised to the sun and eyes closed.
get the dust particles in the streaming sunlight
optional - arms flung out a la 'king of the world' style from The titanic.
Howzzat? i admit it is a poor second to the feeling of standing on top of a mountain...

People, give him a break. He said he realises he's in over his head!
As a customer, i would not care what printer was used on my job if the results were good. does the contract say anywhere that you will only print on the epson?
The idea of giving a discount until the new machine is set up may go a long way in establishing credibility.
i'm an 'aspiring professional' too (not in printing though) and while i don't like calling my clients 'guinea pigs', they do present the opportunity for me to learn by doing, rather than learn before doing...
just my 2cents...

Hello Tim,
If you have a CD burner with your computer, would you not be able to just drag-and drop the images on the CD and let the operating system's media player (e.g. Windows Media Player) do the rest? I have even dropped the files back on my compact flash and taken that to the print shop...
Will that work for you? of course if your comp is a Mac sorry i cant help (though i think it should pretty much do the same thing)

I like your idea for the diffused lighting - will try it...
COuldnt find the Kodak in any of the places i looked at. did see some supposedly good Inkjets (HP PS8250 and Canon Pixma iP6220D) but am worried they may not give professional quality prints...

Hello
I am a newbie in pro-photography (event photography) and am doing my
first major event in a week's time. This is a fundraiser ball and
the organizers would like me to set up a portrait shooting site at
the fundraiser. So far so good, however they also want me to print
pictures on the spot to give people (rather than having to mail the
pictures). They also want the photographs to have the name and date
of the fundraiser event on the pictures!
I would welcome suggestions on how best to this. Of course, cost is
also a factor!
Bridal Shows.....Aarrgh!!!!!
