  1. If I had to pick a picture for a full size wall stuck in my living room...it would be this one.

Albeit, when emlarged, grain should still not be visible. It's not your fault, you just need a higher res camera, and maybe a bit less less processing (contrastm sharpness, etc...) that's all.

Otherwise, this picture totally kicks butt and then some, the sky and dramatic clouds, the ground, the far perspective of mountains, the light, the trees and rocks, textures..... it's all there like a song in full harmony. Total mastery...close to perfect. (Best of all ; the clouds and foreground light...that's special)

I saw the buddha picture you posted on Jeff Long's kid's picture and it was so "right on" that I was intrigued by you. Best comment on his pictures. SovThat's why I am here visiting. Right now, I am looking for the best picture in your vast portfolio (and vast it is, oh My!). This one is very good. It's not my favorite but it touches me in some way, it's emotionally perfect.

    The Boy

    Jeff,

I have not been on PN for a year or something like that...But seeing how much your son has grown, I could not just stay back and say nothing.

So now here I am and I have nothing to say. I just want you to know that I am here. He reminds me of a Daila laima or other poweful figure. I hope it's a good deity...I want it so. I have a very respectful memory of you Jeff. You are a special person...your son probably will be too.

Here we survive, it's the midwest, you know...Not many real friends except in France. I should not say that because some friends are coming soon. Well they are good. You Bostonians have family, the ocean and I know life is great to you (well I imagine it so) truly.

Give a big kiss to your buddha figure here. He looks like he needs a kiss or something (well probably not, he might be in some other contemplation, I did not read the thread....sorry, your threads are so long, it's exhausting to read it all so i just barge in and comment. Hope you don't mind my bully self... I just like you and your candid perspective on life(or so you make me believe...I will not know better, refuse to) . I feel like I am not bound by the rules of good comment practices so here I am taking all the space I want until Jeff kicks me out.

    Where is the bouncer?...

I need to have my ass kicked outta here.

OK let's calm down!....We can relax and look at them pictures....the background is good The Bokeh) I like it. Detail really. His pouting mouth...it's not really a pout, what is it? Undefinable. I bet that's why you like that picture.

    That's why I like it.

I hope you are well. We all need to be well.

I feel a little bit of love towards you and your family. I hope you take it the right way, it;s clean...all bleached and sanitized..no truly. I will always remember. It was special, a bit strange and unexpected but forever memorable, in a good way.

amazing perspective. You cannot tell how the horizon levels off at first (until you start seeing the background patterns far away). It's mind bending. Very hard to achieve with a picture. Genius!

  2. I am amazed you only have one comment on that picture, I expected to find a whole list of superlative comments. So here is my comment to make up for the lack of others. I find this picture SPECTACULAR. Symmetry works perfect here. It's very powerful and technically very advanced (tilt-shift/HDR, etc...) Bravo!

    The Hearth

Pretty amazing and ageless scene. Except for the shiny ceramic and the obviously tool made wooden plates, one would be hard pressed to say when this picture takes place. It reminds me of old paintings. The light is very well controlled. Very nice.

  3. Sorry for those who expected a shiny ferrari or bright speedboats.

I put it under the car and vehicles category as a joke because I am not

    sure where to put it.

It's dedicated to my friend Jeff Long, because he likes it.

this is a condemned house whose owners had to vacate. It will

eventually plunge into the advancing ocean (moves inland about 1 to 2

meters every 10 years but sometimes does it in leaps and bounds).

  4. This is the portrait of a man coming coming a long way to meet his

family. I love him and I said bad things about him in the past so I would

like to erase those words and let him be what he is on this picture...a

dedicated and truthful man coming back to us.

    Rialto

Classic but totally spectacular landscape photography. The trees give a sense of scale (hence the spectacular adjective), the waves give motion and the sky colors the mood. A perfect poster.

Look at the middle bottom..the gothic sculpture and its fine detail in the

light...that's the reason I like this picture, how the light played with the

    architectural details.

I enlarged this picture and was taken aback. I had to give it 7/7 and I very very rarely do so lately. This is absolutely fantastic. I love the sharpness of the man made separation between water surfaces in the foreground against this beautiful and quite dramatic sky in the background. This is poster material...you can be very proud of it. (I know I would be)

    KING’S SAD LOOK

          106

Of all your pictures, this one is truly the most compelling. First..the quality of the lens/focal/light/contrast/resolution is very impressive not to say flawless. Second...the fat nose and mouth of the animal have tremendous character, so does its mane. Last is the expression in his eyes and I think that's what makes this picture a truly unique and perfect catch...it makes you have compassion for the animal. There is no anger or rage or even sadness, there is comprehension, acceptance and what is very surprising and the the most captivating...there is contemplation...deep thought. This is what makes it so hypnotic...our own realization that there is intelligent life beyond the human realm...no one could say that this creature is not having some form of thoughts...it's obvious, it's shocking and yet comforting...a strange mix of emotions that makes you realize that all sentient life is not only stuck in the human genome, but in other mammal forms too. In the end though...the quality of your lens and how you captured this moment is what impresses me (I am a cold hearted bastard) and so is this lion but he sure has nobility. I hope I have some of that but I doubt it. Animals are true to their self and the nature of things in general. The genius of your picture is that it says that clearly, simply, univoquely. It is what it is. You can't beat that.
