  1. In this discussion it is obvious that 35mm has the advantages of spontanaiety and handling, whilst MF has sheer resolution. Most wedding photographers have 35mm & MF for a wedding. The answer is bring both. MF has obvious advantages, as does 35mm. Neither is better than the other, they are better at different things.
  2. I have found a really cheap solution to sealing backs. U can use the foam that u get with computer bits. U know its very similar to the mamiya stuff. Just cut it up into little strips. The problem I had was that I had big streaks across the film. replacing the mamiya foam worked. It seems like the most important part is the foam around the hinge. u need a fat piece there.
  3. I own an RB Pro-S. It isnt that the RB is poorly designed or that the workmanship is bad, its that most RB's on the used market have undergone use by numerous professional users. One thing that you cant say about the RB is the lack of parts or popularity. I have had my Rfor a few months now, and have had several problems. Most have been age related. The RB is one of the cheapest modular medium format cameras, you get what u pay for. If you want reliability by a new Pro-SD or an RZ.
  4. At smaller enlargements the difference will be less apparent as paper can only get so sharp. However at bigger enlargements i.e 20X24 the difference will be apparent. Do not throw away your MF gear!!! It is as simple as this, a larger negative will always have a higher resolution. Full Stop. However the way you shoot with MF is totally different; it is suited to a different style of photography. If you've ever tried a typial MF camera and compared it with a 35mm you will notice that with a MF camera you will be forced to take your time as you only have a small number of exposures. However with 35mm you can have 36 and with a motordrive you can finish it in a matter of seconds. 35mm is more for spontaneous type stuff, and it is suited to it. MF is the opposite (bar some cameras eg. 645's-ETRS etc.).
