  1. Hi. I was looking to purchasing a Lumix FZ7. I'm familiar with the

features, but there aren't very many reviews on owner's experiences.

What are your experiences with the FZ7 - positive and negative.

effectiveness of zoom? battery life? speed of pictures? handling?

effectiveness of the built-in stabilization? need for repair? etc...

worth getting or do you recommend another high-zoom camera?

    thanks!

  2. Hi guys,

sorry i've been out of town for the last couple days, but you've all been in quite a flurry. everything looks so much better.

i wasn't trying to pic favs... just trying to give a selection of bluury vs dark, vs really wretched bridesmaid shots to several people. i apologise if anyone was unhappy. i really appreciate all your help. if anyone wants specific original pics, let me know.

    just a couple specifics:

Ryan McGill - i saw your post and i'll get you a couple soon

William Morgan - i didn't forget about you. i had a bunch of emails bouncing back and my inbox hept going over, so i was waiting to send more... i'll get you some tonight

Todd Frederick - i saw your post and email. i'll get you some soon.

  3. I wrote a long response this am, but i don't see it posted, so here's another :)

Thank you all for magnitude of your generosity! I will definitely be taking you up on your offers to help. I'll spend the next couple of evenings sorting through the pics and figuring out which shots are the most important.

How many? I have ~30 "photo ideas" which need fixing - for example, say I have 6 bridemaids photos but they're all flawed in different ways, I'd like 1 "photo idea" of 1 good bridesmaid photo. I also have a 3 or so very good and crisp photos - for example our cake has a couple of very lovely pictures which don't need altering. And I have many more pics which i think will just remain candid-looking shots and not worth trying to restore.

A bit more on what happened: The photographer told me that she used that same camera for a baptism the week before without incident. Originally she thought the problem was with the developing company she sent her film to - something with the film roller scraping the picture off the film to cause the black mark. The developing company denied it, so she took her camera to a repair place. They said there was something wrong with the mirror, which he had never seen or heard of happening before. The error occurred to all the rolls of film and pics, and did not occur during the shoot. I never considered having a second camera or camera person as crucial, when i was looking for photographers. That's my fault, and I know better now.

We seriously considered getting a lawyer, but she refunded our payment, and we thought it would cost more to hire a lawyer than what we could get towards paying to fix up the family-taken photos. She doesn't use digital, so I don't think she has any experience to offer helping us to fix up family-taken photos. My husband and I also extensively discussed dressing up again for a staged photo shoot - we decided it would be too difficult and expensive because most of our bridal party are from out of state (from florida to oregon), and we wouldn't be able to recaputure the ceremony.

Thank you again for all of your offers to help. I'll be contacting you soon!

  4. Hi I'm a recent bride, and my film photographer's camera was broken

on the big day (something with the mirror- so all the 23 rolls of

film have the middle 1/2-2/3 of solid black... obviously ruined and

    unfixable).

I've gathered digital pictures from many of my guests- but most of

them are awful - bad lighting, very blurry (my brother says b/c the

low lighting caused the "shutter" time to be longer and made

everything blurry), shots from far away with people's heads flanking

the now-not-so-happy couple. The most frequent problem seems to be

    too dark or very blurry.

Are these fixable problems? How do I find someone who does this?

I searched for photo restorers and most seem to deal with restoring

paper photos that look much nicer than the ones I have.

    Please help.

    -a sad bride
